Hey all, I picked up some powdered MDMA today after hearing some very good reviews. I was told it's colored blue for "sale purposes". Apparently there's lots of different colors in my area right now, but I was told to stay away from "red" because it contains lots of ephedrine.

I took a crappy cellphone pic ..



Does anyone know what is commonly used to dye MDMA? Was this done for any reason other than "sale purposes"?
 
Mdma can get a yellowish tint during the cooking process but unless someone deliberately adds blue or red dye it won't turn that color. If what you have is mdma then my guess is that it was colored for novelty's sake or sale's purpose as you put it. Tbh I have no idea what you would use to dye it, food coloring probably or any other type of food dye. Idk.

As far as the warnings associate with the red batch, that's just like someone telling you red pills are crap. Color means nothing with pills and if there is a majority of colored powder in your area it probably means just as little.

Get a test kit bro and find out what it does contain. Cause I've never seen my powder colored like that.
 
While pure (99.99%+) MDMA crystals are translucent(they appear white due to the bending and diffracting of light between the individual crystals), color is often a leftover from the synthesis. An improper or incomplete wash or the like.

Although I suppose it could be way to 'brand' your product.

That powder looks too fine and evenly sized to be a crushed pill in that pic...
But that is a really strong possibility.


OP you should invest in a test kit. Especially if you're in an area with a reputation for having bad/adulterated pills.
 
Thanks for the info; I will be testing this stuff, but I'm away from home for a couple days.

My sentiments exactly. I know the picture quality is poor, but it's a very fine powder. Plus, when I got it, I saw a decent quantity of the stuff which leads me to believe it was never pressed.
 
I've seen mdma that was dyed pink before. I've never tested it but a friend of mine who had some said it was very good.

So, it is possible that it's dyed blue for sale purposes but definitely something to be wary of. A testing kit is an excellent idea.

Get a kit man.
And post the results if you can.
That stuff just looks like bad news imo...
 
Managed to get a clearer picture, which is a tough feat for a 3GS. The camera doesn't focus very well at close ranges...



Just want to make it clear, NOT posting the pic for substance ID purposes. I don't want the thread heading in that direction, because I don't want it to get closed. A friend of mine has a test kit and will be testing this powder for me within the next couple days, and I'll come back and update.

I'm hoping it's clean and the color is simply how they chose to brand product, as Delta9 mentioned. I haven't rolled in 5 months!
 
Yea dude, that shit looks WAY too fine to be a crushed up pill.
It may be an unpressed pill..(if that makes sense)
I highly recommend you test that shit before you consume it..

Try to get some good pics of the results.
And if it comes back as crap just THROW IT AWAY.
 
No one can add anymore insight into the contents of your powder- to echo others, you can only determine the contents by testing it with a kit (www.dancesafe.org). Color is no determination of the contents, so I'd strongly advise you hold onto it and wait to test it before you consume.
