I'm a chemist, working for a medical device/advanced materials company specializing in medicinal silver. This is what I do for a living. My opinion: DO NOT FUCKING TAKE COLLOIDAL SILVER INTERNALLY! At best you're wasting your money, at worst you'll turn blue. Topically, ionic silver (i.e. silver that can dissolve in water-- not a colloid) works wonders for wound care at the right dose, but there's not a single dressing that you can get over the counter -- yet -- that does anything. I have personally tested them and can say that for a fact. There are prescription devices that work, however. I can't go into detail, as I don't want my online persona linked to my professional life, but I can say the following with confidence:
Colloidal silver = snake oil. Period. There is precisely zero good literature out there showing that there is any useful effect from the topical application of colloidal silver, and taking it orally is, quite frankly, not advisible.
