College and Drugs

Yea, I made dean's list last year too when I smoked every single day.

Seems to me you're looking to take the blame off of yourself and put it on the drugs, how about start blaming yourself for not getting enough studying done and get on and do it? Do the drugs after you've done the studying, they'll feel more relieving I think! If i had drugs on me when I was at school/college, i'm sure my work would've improved as I would have something to help my mind relax from the stress after everything was done.

if you think that the drugs are the problem - try not taking them.

set yourself a timetable and work to it. get your shit done. and when you're done, then you can let yourslf smoke.

force yourself to pay attention in class. ask questions, stay interested.

Yea, of course my classes are harder but even though I study and do practice exams I still get B's and C's on the exams. Hopefully the next exams will be better.

mary jane is the wonder herb it definately helps my grades.....as long as i get my shit done BEFORE i get high

I'm doing premed and days consist of this:

Mon-Fri: get up at 7, go to class then labs, get out of class and workout/eat then study till I go to sleep. I easily put in 14 hour days more often than not. No job, no girlfriend, no life.

Today I woke up at 7. Got to school around 8 and squeezed in about 45 minutes of organic chemistry studying before class began at 9. Left class at 10:15 for the library where I did 2 more hours of organic. Then lunch, a half hour or so of chill time, then back to organic until about right now (5:00pm). Pretty soon I gotta start again. It takes me about 20 minutes to do each book problem, and there are around 75 questions per chapter. Plus there are the old quizzes and exams....bleeaahh it just never stops.

Oh did I mention I have physics exam #2 tommorow morning as well?

girlfriend? job? lol!

I'll tell you what, marijuana works for some types of homework. It works for things where you need to recognize a pattern quickly, or solve a quick math problem. It works for coming up with novel ideas.

But if you are doing ANYTHING that requires a bit of short term memory, like doing organic chemistry problems or physics problems, or maybe typing an in-depth essay, STAY AWAY from marijuana. With the amount of information that I am pouring over, thc would paralyze me.

For example last week, I tried to smoke a bowl and do organic problems - didn't work at all. I couldn't focus. Sure marijuana is great if you are just going to sit down and read a book for fun or watch a movie...but for homework I need my short term memory!

Drugs = Good grades?

No.

Hard Work + Study + Interest in the Subject = Good Grades

I've never really followed this advice, but i have no problems telling other people to lol.

Ok.... I have quit drugs, I have quit weed and my grades are FUCKING DROPPING. I have a god damn 3.0 GPA for this semester. Last semester I fucking smoked weed every fucking day, smoked half of a pack of cigs a day and drank alcohol almost every day. I had a fucking 3.7 GPA that semester.

So can somebody tell me what the fuck is going on? God dammit.
personally, i enjoy sciences and maths alot more when i have pot to kindle my curiosity;)

reading physical or chemical science while stoned blows my mind. seriously it makes me go nuts

so does everyone agree that getting stoned after doing all your work make sense?

lol

And to ezbakeoven: I think we can all agree on that, don't think you needed to ask really!

Organic is tricky enough sober. I've done lab reports and other menial tasks half drunk before, when it comes to actual memory work nothing beats a sober mind.
