Would it be possible to dissolve some APAP + codeine pills in water and then pour them through a Brita filter or would the filter remove the good stuff? I'm trying to save some time/effort. Thanks.

A brita filter is nothing but acitvated charcoal, right? If so, it's not gonna work. Use a Tshirst or coffee filter.

Putting it through a shirt takes no time at all...as long as it's wet before hand (made that mistake the first time I tried it and lost heaps...ooops) and you can squeeze the last of it out 8)

Hrmm... a brita filter... thats one of the best idea I have ever heard, shit, I am writing that down for future use - you would remove like 100% of the particles....
You get an award for such a good idea! PhreeX Likes!
But if you dont have the brita deal just use coffee filters...

I've been filtering 8mg codeine/500mg APAP pills through an old white dress shirt. It seems to do the trick, but it's slow as molasses. On a related note, is it okay if the filtered product is cloudy? Is it safe to consume or should it be filtered again?

The final product will not be crystal clear, however, it should NOT be *too* cloudy ... filter again with a few coffee filters ... I really like the brita idea, I think this would work WONDERFULLY!
To speed up the process the only way is to use a larger filter (larger surface area = more fluid getting through) or you can filter with a vacuum (a little more advanced and you need some labware) .
