Would just like to know if other tried to quit subs/opiates ct and how long they experienced withdrawls

I quit suboxone at 2mg a day after 4 years of being on it. The withdrawal peaked on days 10-12 then slowly got better from day 13 on. Physically I was mostly better by day 25 but the PAWS was insanely brutal. Sleep was pretty much out of the question and I was a nervous wreck for the entire month. It was easily the worst experience of my life.
I got back on heroin after 50 days.

I quit methadone 90mg daily cold turkey and it was NO FUN.
I really wish I had done a rapid taper but what's done is done.
Now, I will not touch the methadone again due to how bad it was getting off of it.

Right now I'm coming off opiates cold turkey for the 20000000000001th time, no fun.

I quit subs cold turkey. I was on 8mg for only about 2 months. the withdrawal was easy, I hardly noticed anything really. I was surprised at how smooth it went. of course I eventually ended up hooked on opiates again and got on methadone , which im still on today.

We'll thanks guys for your input on how you handled your withdrawls off subs / methadone. I'm on day 11 cold turkey off 1 week sub use no more then 5 mg a day. Only symptoms that linger for me are cold chills and a little trouble sleeping hoping this gets better soon.

In my opinion I believe if any person that takes enough suboxone and reaches there ceiling threshold (mine being 24mg total) there gonna recieve some form of extended withdrawl symptoms

There is no way to get out of an opiate habit unscathed. You should be able to treat your symptoms with a few comfort meds and supplements. The withdrawal from subs was mild but longlasting if tapered correctly. Day eleven you should be in the clear with the physical symptoms, but be wary of PAWS and other mental symptoms.

Do you have a plan to stay sober? Try some meetings and support groups, or see a therapist. It is really helpful in early recovery to talk about the problem. It helps to put things in perspective and integrate the feelings you had while using...and it also lends a lot to being accountable.

Day 13 sober only thing that's been bugging me is slight chills I get but I would of thought that would be gone by now also I do plan on staying sober and yes group therapy and meetings do help I no longer feel any type of need for opiates ever again in my life

Great job! You will probably have some lingering symptoms while your brain readjusts itself to not having opiates in it constantly. It sounds like you are doing all the right things to get your life back on track!

You'll have to be patient for a while longer, but it DOES get better!
