So I think ive got cold sores does this mean even when I go away I should inform my partner before kissing ? Also read some huge percentage of people get them is this correct so its really not that bad?

So you think you have Herpes, but are not sure and you want to tell people that you do for sure. I see a few problems with this, like that you haven't gone to get tested yet.

HSV-1 usually causes cold sores at the corners of the mouth or the border of the lip and the face. Those parts of your face will always be shedding virus, even if there are no sores at all and the skin is smooth. However, when there are sores the viral shedding is way higher and you will be way more contagious.

It's important to tell your partners. HSV-1 on the mouth is very common, a lot of people have it. However, if you make out with someone who doesn't have HSV-1, they could get it. And worse, if you go down on someone who doesn't have it, they will get HSV-1 on their genitals. (HSV-2 is usually the genital kind but if you've never had it then the primary contact will go wherever the virus touches, including the face or genitals.)

Any idea of percentage chance of transmission when no cold sores are present ? Basically I was kissing this girl at a club when I saw her in the light saw cold sore or what look like one on her like two days after that my lips start burning n get a couple bumps . Really horrible if I can never kiss or eat pussy again.

Had a girlfriend that would pretty frequently get cold sores. As a child I remember some kids having them, and I seem to have had some, but knowing me it was (could have been) an unknown food sensitivity.

The girl frequently went down on me. I also on her. Honestly herpes most of the time is not a big deal.... From what I've heard. And I definitely have exposure, and never, ever produce symptoms.

Don't live in a bubble if you don't have to. Herpes and HPV are generally at worst a minor nuisance. Not to say they aren't without added risk... But if people stopped fucking because of these things .... A lot of people wouldn't be fucking.

Hard to say. A lot of people who don't have HSV-1 sores may still be shedding at sub-outbreak levels. Just because there's not a sore doesn't mean there's no shedding happening. A person can be contagious without sores. The sores are just a sign that viral reactivation has hit its peak and the body is finally reacting. The virus could be shedding when the skin still looks normal.

If you got bumps with burning, and the bumps had some fluid inside, then you probably have HSV-1 now. And yes that means you can't go down on someone who doesn't also have HSV-1. You should ask your partners if they've ever had a cold sore on their lip. If they say yes then chances are they have HSV-1 and going down on them will not cause it to spread to their genitals. If they've never been infected before and you go down on them, then they WILL get it on their genitals as their primary outbreak.

If your primary outbreak is still happening, take lots of lysine and vitamin C. Lemon balm (melissa officinalis), an herbal supplement, is also amazing... if you can get it as an oil or salve that you can apply to your lip it will reduce the outbreak time greatly.
