Cold against the summer sky
I can't feel what I feel anymore
Life is like a cold foreboding plane
But the light shines through the clouds
In my mind, inside

I want to fly, my broken wings
The pain is unreal
But the air still sings
I'm rising high in the foothills
The mountain pass awaits

thanks for the responses. although it's a short poem and it didn't take that long to write, i'm fond of it because i truly felt what i was saying as i wrote it.
