I have never tried cocaine, despite a fairly seasoned list, otherwise, but I would love to try coke - I have never done it and still feel a craving-like draw to it. Amphetamines are great when they aren't taken everyday and thus begin to build tolerance and abuse the body and mind; those with limited amphetamine experience can get a ton of fun out of some amphetamine here and there. When I dose higher, or have a bit of break from amphetamines, that distinct euphoria is very nice and only can be achieved via amphetamines.
Now, by obsession with coke is really on account of my experiences with methylphenidate, which I almost always dose intranasally, giving the methylphenidate's effects a very swift onset. And, it is fairly well-known in the drug community that methylphenidate is a re-uptake inhibitor of the neurotransmitter dopamine (though others, too, of course) as is cocaine; they work the same way. And, from what I have gathered, they are not enormously different in their potential range of effects. With amphetamines, though, there is not significant re-uptake activity, but rather simple increased activity through more direct release of dopamine (and other neurotransmitters, too, of course). I think of cocaine as a nice solution to fatigue and depressed mood, on a personal level, which would not cause the same drawn-out and tense comedown as amphetamines, but rather comedown swiftly and sharply, but not with lasting consequences in the acute nor nearly as much tolerance as an amphetamine session tends to bring about. I know coke can be much more 'more-ish', however I don't think that would cause me a terrible problem with the drug. I, actually, think very good quality cocaine could be used for either therapeutic purposes or recreation. Again, though, I have yet to actually try it.
