I UTFSE but I didn't find what I wanted.

I'm pretty sure I had an overdose last night and am wondering if I should be worried further. I'm definetely scared enough that I'm not going down that road again.

I did a shot and basically it seemed like I started having blood pressure issues. My heart started racing and it didn't feel like the fun cocaine high. I sat down and if I moved very much at all, my heart would start beating faster and I'd feel dizzy. Some chest pain. I had a bit of fuzzy vision but not too bad. I felt like rushes to my brain. I had to consciously breath evenly and deeply as possible and tried not to panic. I sat for about 30 minutes. By that point I could get up and move around but had to move slowly or I'd feel dizzy. By about +1:15h, I was feeling much more normal, just tired and scared.

This morning the back of my neck and my pecs are really sore, a bit of chest tightness but that could just be from anxiety/worry.

I didn't seizure, I didn't pass out, I didn't sweat or get cold , didn't have hallucinations or deliriums.

I'm sure I had an OD, but what I'm not sure about is what to do from here. I know for sure obviously not doing coke ever again is the #1 thing. Should I be seeking out medical attention or just happy to have made it out alive and stay the fuck away from coke? I OD'ed on heroin once, passed out/grey, EMTs etc and was fine afterwards with no need for medical checkup.

well if you had a heart attack i think you would realize the pain, and it MIGHT of been a small stroke or something im not sure. but just to be on the safe side IMO I would go to the doctor to get it checked out to make sure you have no damage done to your body.

You did too much coke. That's a normal reaction (happened to me and many others on numerous occasions... happened to one of my friends recently, actually). You may have even been very close to your seizure threshold no doubt. Lay off the blow for a while. You won't have a heart attack from that particular session if you haven't had it already.

EDIT: EKG is probably not a bad idea either, if your want to be really cautious.

Have you ever IVed before? If you Od you do it right away. Hell lots of OD deaths you don't even get the needle out. I've done this coke many times. I just went on a bit of a bender and that was the sign to say OK you're done.

I'm just wondering if what I had was an actual heart attack (ie death of some heart tissue). I also know that its a vasoconstrictor, while at the same time your heart speeds up, which makes it hard to get the blood out. Which would explain my symptoms, I'm just wondering if that could lead to tissue damage.

It's difficult to imagine how you could have a heart racing and not feel the coke high. Usually the heart racing follows a bell curve: it goes higher and higher, you get a seizure and fish out, then the heart quietens and you emerge from your seizure. The possibility that there was something else in your dope apart from coke is not to be ruled out.

Going asap to a cardiologist is a good idea and it would set your mind at rest even if you're fine. If you can't tell the doc the truth try to think of a story that puts him on the right track, like you injected something supposed to make you feel good but you don't know exactly what it is (there's surely some legal stuff people inject).

Note that heroin is not toxic to the heart as far as I know, so the fact that your heart was OK after an heroin OD means nothing in this case. Coke is not heart-friendly.

I never do anything EXCEPT IV my cocaine (rush*rush*rush*!). If that's was your method of admin while ODing, you'd be typing this from a hospital bed (or not at all).

I've never really ever heard of some asking whether or not they've had a heart attack, so I'd say no, you didn't have one. Damage? most likely. Cocaine doesn a fucking number on your heart, way more so if shot. Your body will recover as long as you give it a chance.

When I think back actually, I felt the normal coke rush. However it just kept going up and up and up without leveling off at a state of a nice bellringing high. The rush just kept going and getting more intense until it wasn't pleasurable and I was in a state where I felt like any sharp movements would make me faint. I'd say this was within about 1 minute. Thats when I sat down on a chair for 30 minutes, chest hurting and faintness with some fuzzy vision. I sat still and tried not to panic, as I knew that would only make it worse.

Yeah I figured if I had a heart attack I would be in the hospital.

I did the shot at 8:20pm and by 9:45 I was able to move well enough to drive and pick up my wife.

Could the sore pecs and neck be from muscles tightening up for like 45 minutes?

I guess now I'm wondering if I did do any damage, will it likely repair itself on its own with a good long break from the coke, or if there is any my dr should be doing for me. I like to workout/high intensity cardio and I don't want to end up actually having a heart attack during that in the next week.

Haha, you're describing my close enounters to a tee. :D Where I'm sitting in the bathroom seat after a shot and everything goes 'saving private ryan explosion scene'. I hear nothing but the fucking gong in my head start and talking myself into believing this is not my last ringer. ...not really that funny i guess

But seriously, going for bellrigners IV is probably the most risky thing in rec drug abuse (maybe next to IV barbs). And that's saying A LOT . BE FUCKING CAREFUL. ALWAYS TEST FIRST. ALWAYS MEASURE TWICE. Just remember, you were very close to the line.

EDIT: And yeah, the soreness is from muscles going totally ridgid from the stimulant. Also, common side effect.

Uhm, I would say you went very near a brain seizure. The reason you didn't have a terrific bell-ringer may be that you are developping a tolerance to coke (how much was in your shot?). As to your heart, it was trying to tell you "stop this". Some people who overdo high impact physical exercice probably experience the same symptoms (without the angst of having done a hard drug).

EDIT : I concurr that sore muscles are common even when there's no mishap. Sit in the same posture shooting C (or smoking crack) for hours on end, and you emerge with stiff muscles all over.

It's days like this I'm glad for bluelight. IVXLCDM, its reassuring to know that you've had the same thing happen.

That's probably why my neck is sore! Holy shit, why didn't I think of that?? It's way more sore when I look down. Oh god, time to take a break, eh? ;)

What do people think of what to do beyond laying off the coke? Should I be taking it easy as far as getting my heart rate up for an extended period of time (ie running/cycling) as well?

i sort of had an experience like this. one of the reasons why i stopped shooting blow. but it was really unpleasureable. but i was high as a kite the whole time. i just knew i did too much. i thought my tolerance to it was big then, so i slammed a whole 20 in one shot. i was crawling on the floor. couldn't talk. i think if i had done $10 more worth of coke i would've had a seizure. just be careful. thinking about it now, it kind of makes me want to slam some blow. but i just hate the depression and paranoia afterwards. so i'm not even going to bother with it.

A hospital can only do so much for you. If the OD had done serious damage (i.e. stroke, heart attack, seizure, muscle collapse) then it would have happened by now and you would have known about it.

Try to eat healthy, get some sleep, etc.. if you feel like something is seriously messed up with you tomorrow, then look into it further.
But unless you can't move the left half of your body or your heart is skipping beats, some sleep and nutrition should fix your discomfort.

Even if you think "my heart is beating out of my chest, oh my god I'm dying", EKGs usually still turn up normal because its just anxiety/panic. I have even been to the ER a few times CONVINCED that I was having a stroke (my right arm was numb and the whole right half of my body felt weird, I was dizzy, and hyper-flexive, and I could feel my veins pulsating even when laying down) but it was just panic and probably too high of a dose of adderall

i recently had a similar experience last friday while lifting weights at school on a higher dose of adderall than i am rx'ed. I know it was more due to the physical exertion but I pretty much had the exact same symptoms except when i was walking down the hall to get my bottle of water out of my locker I had to sit down on the floor because my vision started to fade to black like it does when you faint. I know I didnt OD but I had severe chest pain and everytime I got up to walk i was sure i was going to faint. I feel normal now but it took a couple days. Was thinking about getting an EKG before the ironman competition next week as i do take adderall everyday and would hate to pass out on stage infront of my whole school. Im now nervous about lifting on my normal dose of adderall but am somewhat addicted so not taking it would probably affect my lifts. Do you guys think i should get an EKG or would i be safe aslong as i keep the dose normal?

(Sorry to the O.P. for chiming in with a question, but i was actually planning on making a post about this soon and figured since the subject matters were somewhat related it would be better than making a new thread)

Know that when you shoot coke at high doses, it's like playing russian roulette with one round in the cylinder.

Stopping now would be a great idea. Bad part is, it will be hard to go back to snorting or smoking without getting the itch to rig up every time you sample a bit.

I have had many "minor" IV coke seizures in the past. I say minor because I didn't pass out, my heart is fine, and my EKGs are normal. I had one IV coke OD that resulted in a grand mal seizure and cardiac arrest. Almost didn't make it back from that one.

I have been mostly clean for about 3 years. I say mostly because I used a few times this past winter. The coke was shit, and I didn't get into it anything like back in '06 when I was shooting an ounce or more a month.

You already mentioned that you have a wife; don't know if you have kids or not. IV coke is a selfish, deadly game. If you want to quit, alll you need to do is take a minute to reflect on the horror and pain your wife and kids will feel when they find your lifeless body surrounded by your drugs, rigs, etc. It's not really a question of if, but when. Most of the BL posters above have stopped shooting coke - not because they don't like it or don't get a rush any longer; they stopped to keep the spiral of death from closing in . . .
