Coke Burn

I've done coke a good number of times... not years on end but probably about 30 times in my life... I was wondering that if a somewhat severe burn after snorting is evidence of higher purity then I am used to, or if it is just somethin in the cut. Maybe, no way to tell I dunno... This stuff just burns pretty bad... Not to the point that i'm screaming in pain, but its pretty uncomfortable for a good 10 seconds after taking it in. thanks for any help.

Burn is not good. It's the cut, not an indication of a higher purity.

A FOAF had some rather pure freebase cocaine which he added HCl(28%) to by the drop, waiting several minutes in between drops to let the bubbling stop, until all signs of any chemical reaction were absent when more was added(IE, all the cocaine had been converted to the HCl salt). The resulting cocaine was of extremely high purity, but also caused an extremely intense burning sensation when insufflated. The burn was more intense than pure methamphetamine, but only lasted a few seconds--just long enough for the cocaine to dissolve into the membranes.
So this burning sensation was the result of, what? Excess HCl??
