I always hear people comparing the two just because they come in syrup form. I tried dextromethorphan and it was intense. I never tried codeine though but I tried other opiates. How do the highs compare? Aren't they a completely different thing? Please get as in depth as you can.

hello,
dxm is quite a powerful dissociative in the same cass of drugs as PCP, Nitrous & Ketamine.
it has different platues at different doses.
150mg of simular to mda.
300mg id simalar to a speedy drunk & stoned kind of feeling
higher doses are simular to taking ketamine

dxm feel nothing like codeine
codeine is a weak opiate which converts 10% to morphine in ya liver.

u need to do a cold water extraction to seperate the codeine from the apap (which is toxic in doses more than a few grams)..

u cant just buy over the counter codeine by itself unlike dxm which u have to make sure the only active ingrediant is dextromethorphine or u can poison yaself

^ codeine is a weak opioid but in high doses it can still feel pretty strong - but the effects don't last long, and it tends to release a lot of histamine making you super-itchy compared to other opioids. There is also some controversy over morphine being responsible for it's effects - it may be another metabolite, codeine-6-glucaronide. Otherwise spot on, especially about it being important to CWE codeine/APAP pills to remove any APAP, you def don't want more than 2g in one dose and 4g in 24 hours! Also v important to make sure your DXM syrup only contains DXM as the active ingredient as you said, a lot of people forget this! :)

Codeine in syrup form can be just codeine, or it often contains an antihistamine (usually promethazine) rather than APAP - you need to be careful with this, as high doses can cause delirium due to it's anticholinergic properties, which isn't pleasant! Codeine/APAP pills also sometimes contain caffeine, which isn't removed by a CWE and can be pretty uncomfortable in high doses.

Always check your ingredients so you know what you are dealing with :)
