Codiene may becoming Script only ?

[ [Have seen a lot on media about codiene addiction sky rocketing in Aus and they are now considering making all codiene products script only anyone else think this is good or bad ?
 
I suffer with chronic knee pain and I would be screwed without it , but going to docs every month for it seems a huge pain ass / knee
 
how much panadeine extra is safe to take???

this guy in here got two pacs each tab is 15mg codeine plus paracetamol.

it says max 8 tabs in 24 hours

theres 20 tabs in each pac... he wants to eat one whole pac to himself says it will get him off chops and says i should do the same

no real tolerance to opies

No, you must extract the paracetamol.
Codeine is relatively safe in normal circumstances, but a Cold Water Extraction is essential carrying this out safely.
It is very simple and cheap to carry out, just watch out for the addictive properties of codeine.

Personally i think it should be up to individuals whether or not they wish to take codeine-containing preparations.
More $$$ in the pockets of the medical indistry i suppose....

Yes u want to do a cwe (cold water extraction) on ur panadine plus the average liver can tollorate 2.5 grams of paracetamol in one go (that's 5 tablets) anymore than that and you run a real risk of liver damage
 
fuck well i just ate the whole packet? thats 20 tabs.. wtf is gonna happen how will i know if my liver is fucked

... Ibuprofen and paracetamol in high quantities are one of the worst things to overdose on, from what Iv read.

I'm not sure what you can do at this point, I'm not sure the dosage people end up going to hospital from.

I think lots of people getting into codeine make this mistake though, It seems like a lot of ppl don't realise how much there is in recreational doses.
 
Don't see it ever happening, OTC codeine products make up a huge percentage of pharmacy's profit margins, and no doubt pharmaceutical companies as well. It's one thing to change the max box size from 100 to 40, the pharmacies just make more money because they sell the 40 boxes for nearly as much as the old 100 boxes and people buy twice as much, but making it script only would be a huge hit to their income.
 
You really need to start being smart and researching the shit you take CC. I'm sorry dude but every time I read your posts I shake my head in disbelief.

Bluelight is here for a reason, and it would be wise to start using it for it's intended use. Harm reduction.

If u really have ingested 20 panadiene xtras in one hit ur liver would be doing it very tough ATM

Forty at 15mg is max currently but by lowering dosage u r only encouraging harm to kidneys n liver not everyone could b bothered CWE every time they dose nor is it practical in public

yes but less $ for pharmacies and they hold a lot of power
 
Go to hospitable! At the very least drink shitloads of water to flush ur liver some people tollorate APAP quite well compaired to others.i know people that have been admitted to hospitable after injesting 1 box and I also know a person that take atleast 24 ussaly 48 panadine extra and has been doing it for years and drinking daily ontop of that...it is starting to catch up with her now tho
