codiene and cannabis, kind of psychedelic?

ive been using codiene 240mgs with cannabis alot recently and noticed it can be kind of psychedelic. when i close my eyes and rest i get intense CEVs (after a while) and even a kind of dissociative feel to it. ive also noticed OEVS too with things moving around slightly and also sometimes strong pattern recognition and colours.

anyone else tried this combo with similar experiences?
 
Visuals don't necessarily mean psychedelia, in the end this is a matter of semantics but for psychedelia there needs to be some level of mind expansion. Generally things like deliriums, hypnogogia / hypnopompia, opiate induced revery or GHB visuals are examples of things that are not considered psychedelic although they share some aspects with hallmark psychedelia like visuals which are strongly associated with psychedelic trips.

Cannabis is a quite special drug in that it has properties that are seen in psychedelics, dissociatives, stimulants, depressants, analgesics and maybe more classes of drugs. So no argument there.

Codeine or other opiates can produce visuals or dreamy thoughts on their own but in the end they are mind narrowing.

Combining it with cannabis produces a cocktail of effects that may or may not be classified as psychedelic: with enough blunting of the codeine, psychedelia from cannabis can disappear but with strong enough cannabis effects there can be some definite trippiness.
So who's to decide?

In any case, I just thought I'd provide you with some guidelines on the definitions.
 
Haha, I think I've said this before but I swear one day I'm going to log on to BL and see a 'the psychedelic effects of oxygen' thread.

Depending on who you talk to, some would say that cannabis in high enough doses is psychedelic in itself. Usually smoking cannabis can bring out some psychedelic-like effects in other drugs. But I wouldn't go so far as to say it's strictly a psychedelic experience blazing on a bit of codeine, which I've done before. In fact I appreciated this combo precisely because the codeine brought me away from the mad and often dark places my mind wants to go on cannabis.
 
i wasnt saying i was having a psychedelic experience, just some things i have noticed with this combo that ive found interesting, more a hint of psychedelia and wondered has anyone else noticed this.
 
With enough of both I do find I will get that. Weed can produce some whack CEV's itself. Codeine blunts out the paranoid, darker aspects of cannabis but I wouldn't say it really destroys the visuals in my experience.
 
One time I got a terrific high combining weed with codeine, so calm and peaceful. But the other two times I just vomited. It was too much for me. I have a weak stomach, especially with codeine.
 
I like codeine and ephedrine with weed as a nice roller coaster of a combo, and i would say this combo has a few borderline psychedelic moments to it as well.

best way is to make sure you have really low tolerance to everything too.
