Codeine

Hello! I'm a long time lurker/new poster. Decided to join bluelight because i'm not finding the information that i'm looking for online or on threads regarding dosages. I normally dose 40mg hydrocodone to feel nice and I recently got 3 x 60 mg Codeine Phosphate/300 mg Acetaminophen. I have no experience with Codeine so being cautious I took 1 and 1/2 60 mgs. Is this a good starting dose? I weigh 120lbs and i'm female if that helps.

That's a reasonable amount at 90 mg. The thing that bugs me about codeine more than other opiates is it makes me itch so I would probably start off at a similar dose. How do you feel now, compared to hydro?

Good! Really? I'm one of those who enjoy the itch. I guess some do and some don't. I feel nice. Relaxed and content. I just started to feel itchy about 2hrs after dosing. Which is weird because it's never taken me this long to feel the itchy side effects. The buzz has lasted much longer than hydro's buzz.

Unfortunately, codeine dependency builds up quite fast SWIM gets nothing off of anything short of 150mg now

Aw, that sucks. Codeine doesn't come around often so I would have never had the chance to try it out or even the chance to build a dependency.

If you dose 40 mg of Hydro than 180 mg of codeine is fine. In fact, I don't think it's enough. When I've got only shitty opiates I find that when the codeine "high" wears off after an hour I take 120 mg of diazepam to get back that warm-blanket fuzzy feeling. I think to much hype surrounds taking two CNS depressants.

Firstly, the amount of codeine is small. Secondly, I've taken huge amounts of diazepam when the codeine wears off and have never suffered ill-consequences. Just my two cents. By they way, if you don't have a benzo tolerance than 30mg of diazepam should do the trick. Ahhh, the days when i could get a good high from 30mg of diazepam...
