Opioids Codeine reaction

Ok so about 2 years ago I had mono and my doctor prescribed me some liquid codeine. I believe I took a normal dose before bed. I woke up at like 12:30 SCREAMING IN THE MOST PAIN I HAVE EVER BEEN! My abdomen area felt like it was about to be ripped open and a baby alien from the movie was gonna come flying out. It lasted like 10 - 15 min of straight pain! My dad rushed me to the hospital but by then the pain was gone. Doctors don't know what happend but my mom thinks I was allergic to the codeine. She said that she is also allergic. Am i allergic?! And if so, does this mean I'm allergic to all opiates??
 
How could we know if you're allergic if all we have is a message board post describing something that occurred 2 years ago? We aren't doctors, we can't physically examine you so all that's left is blind speculation.

If you're concerned about an allergy, you should see a physician and get tested. We can't do that for you and there's no point in guessing about this. The episode may have been a coincidence or maybe you are allergic.

I believe if you ARE allergic to one opiate or opioid, it increases the likelihood you'll be allergic to others but its not an inevitability (someone PM me to let me know if I'm wrong here).
