Codeine Legality in Canada? (Ontario)

A little background first:

Me and a few of my friends are planning on going to Canada sometimes this summer. We're going to go to Windsor, Ontario, which is about a 2 hour drive from here. All of us are between 18-19 years old. Here are a few questions that I've been wanting to ask for a while:

- Is the required age to buy Codeine 18 years old?
- What is the procedure for buying Codeine? (On the shelf, behind the counter, ask pharmacist for it, etc)
- Is it legal to bring Codeine back to the States? If so, how many bottles are you allowed to bring?

Other questions:

- Drinking age is 19?
- Is it a bad idea to bring marijuana to Canada? (I have a hidden compartment in my car to hide it.)
- Do the border police (Canada + U.S.) often search cars crossing the border or bring drug dogs to search cars?
- Is it legal to bring Alcohol back to the States if we are all under 21?
- What is the age requirement to go to a casino and gamble?

One of my friends also mentioned that there are a lot of hookah bars in Windsor that sell marijuana. Is this true?

Don't expect a friendly reception from the border people and don't even think about bringing any sort of contraband. I was vacationing in Michigan visiting family and my husband at the time thought driving to Windsor for a day might be fun.

They questioned what's the purpose of your visit and checked our ID. Having Michigan plates and Florida ID was enough reason for them to ask us to exit the vehicle and search it. I know things are tighter now though since 9/11.

As far as buying codeine, I'm not sure how that works. My aunt and uncle used to buy it frequently and bring it back to Detroit for my grandpa, who had pain and addiction issues. But it's very low dose mixed with acetaminophen or aspirin. Personally, I wouldn't mess with it.

Maybe someone with more experiences will share. Or like Lostboys said, you could find these things on google. Be careful.

And caffeine. iirc, Canadian OTC codeine is a maximum of 8mg a pill of codeine, with 15mg of caffeine, and APAP or an NSAID thrown in. The APAP isn't much of a problem, a good CWE can remove the vast majority of it in 10 minutes, but the caffeine content will stay with the codeine, so unless you have the combination of an absurdly high caffeine tolerance and very little or no opiate tolerance, there's just too much caffeine to get any recreation out of those pills without experiencing the extremely unpleasant nausea and overstimulation of high dose caffeine.

Of course I'm not actually Canadian, just going off what I've read here on BL, so maybe there is a brand without caffeine.
 
UPDATE: I found out that the gambling age is 19 in Ontario, so we're now going to go to Montreal. None of us know French, would that cause problems?

- Is it legal to bring Codeine back to the States? If so, how many bottles are you allowed to bring? I don't know this one sorry.

When i was up in Ontario (about 4 years ago now) you could buy the 200 count bottles of AC&C at walmart for about $8 i think. They are much more expensive at shoppers drug mart as they are about $10 for 100 AC&C's. AC&C's are your best bet as they are the cheapest form of OTC codeine in Canada. They have 325mg's of Aspirin, 15mg's of Caffeine and 8mg's of codeine. Other products such as Mersyndol which has 325mg's of Acetaminophen, 5mg's of doxylamine and 8mg's of codeine are available but they cost a fortune (about $20+ for a bottle of 100) and you can't take anymore then say 5 as doxylamine is water soluble and as it's a anti-cholinergic will make you delirious in high doses which is no fun.

I was never carded in Ontario but then again i was 28 at the time. Still i sometimes to this day get carded for smokes and booze so i guess all the healthy living is responsible for my young looks ;) . They can card you though all the same if the pharmacist wants to.
 
yea inBC we don't have asprin mixed ones just apap you can buy as many as you want I used to buy my mom 1-2 bottlesof 200 pills every week! she took 10 pills 5-6 times a day so she fucked her liver up good.
 
And most people in Montreal speak English it wouldn't be a problem what so ever. Drinking age in Montreal is also 18 so thats a bonus for your 18 year old friend.

They don't have the AC&C's out there? That's odd because every province i have been to had the AC&C's. Here where i live you have to give a name (sometimes they card you sometimes they don't) and you are only allowed to get 100 a month. Now there are of course easy ways of getting around this such as using fake names, going to different pharmacies, etc. The cunts started doing that after the big and dandy oxycontin epidemic here 8) . They said people where making a morphine like product out of it so i guess they mean homebake or perhaps people are just making morphine out of it. Either way it's a pain in the arse.

You can also get promethazine OTC here but not many pharmacies carry it. I have only gotten it by asking the pharmacy to order it in for me. The brand name is Histantil and it comes in 25mg or 50mg tablets in bottles of 100. So you can get your lean on by drinking a CWE and eating some promethazine. Thing is noone here gives a fuck about codeine or promethazine and junkies only use codeine when they can't score for anything better or can't afford better.
 
People were starting to make the drug prevalent in Russia called krockadil.
And yes I've never even seen a codeine pill mixed with asprin in BC. I wouldn't want to take any though ASA hurts my stomach big time I'd rather ingest apap or cwe them.
Here they don't even ask for a name you can ask for 5 bottles at a time if you want my mom does all the time do do I when I pick her up them.

Lol I hot a buddy up there I guess he is an alcoholic lol thats weird I bet kids in the states are jelous. It was weird I smoked and drank like a fish from about 16 up until I became 19 and was able to buy these thing legally after 19 I just stopped slowly and lost interest realised how stupid smoking tobacco is
