Advocated this as safer practice on these boards (not just using ibuprofen but paracetamol and others) a while back and didn't seem to go down too well with collective opinion. Don't know why not? I even go so far as to take aspirin/codeine mixes (Dispirin Forte & Aspalgin) sometimes as substitutes (or rather a part of an aggregated dose with paracetamol/ibuprofen) to break the pattern of harmful co-ingedients up; albeit aspirin is ofcourse soluble so CWE is ineffective yet will take 3 or 4 in some orange juice when seeking just small (30-40mg) quantities of codeine. What is everyone's opinion on this? Am I missing something?
PS: from the University chemist I managed to acquire a paracetamol/codeine mix with the ratio 10:500mg (more than mersyndol). Didn't know these existed. The brand name is simply 'Pharmacist'.
PPS: Was talking to the pharmacist today and asked about their views on codeine/dihydrocodeine products and the answer was that there is no standardised practise other than obvious 'regulations' and it is up to the 'store policy' as to
how they distribute them.
