Codeine Dosage

I still have a relatively low Opiate tolerance. I can get a decent buzz of 15mg of Hydrocodone on an empty stomach. 25-30mg will give me a really nice rush and will have me very sedated and nice. Those are strong, sedating doses for me but I like the intensity of the rush and body high. I've taken Tramadol before. First time I took it I took 180mg and I loved it. I like it even more than Hydrocodone. It didn't have a rush but I liked the high itself more than Hydrocodone.

Okay my question, should I bother trying codeine considering these factors and does it give a good body high? I don't want to waste money and not like it. I did like 180-200mg Tramadol more than 25mg of Hydrocodone. So how much Codeine should I take?
 
I take 30-40mg of Oxy per day for pain and I find it takes about 600mg of codeine to have similar effects. So for you probably like 200-300mg?

EDIT: Since you have a low tolerance I would go with 200mg at first.
 
Okay I think I'll take 210mg of Codeine. I'm looking for a noticeable nice, warm, soothing body euphoria, will I get that and possibly enjoy it more than Hydrocodone with a high dose? Basically what I'm asking is, is it the same high as Hydrocodone but a lot weaker or is Codeine a different high that I could possibly enjoy more in a high enough dose?
 
remember to extract the APAP, if there is any in your pills

200mg should be a good dose as that is supposed to be like 20mgs of morphine

i never did hydro, and did codeine a few times but i'm a very poor metabolizer (doses like 360mgs didn't do anything) so i gave it up already, but the high from codeine mostly comes from the morphine it is metabolized to in the body. that being said, morphine is a very sedating and itchy high, pretty good.

I'd say around 250mg is a good dose if your opiate tolerance is low. Don't expect much from codeine though, hydrocodone is much better but you can still obtain a very decent buzz of it, tolerance seems to set in fast tho and your gunna need stronger opiates very soon.
 
I always got great highs from codeine, sure you need a pretty low tolerance to opiates if you want to get that fucked off it, but for some reason I always just found the feeling it induces to be particularly pleasant.

On the opioid dose conversion calculator I used, it says 30mg of hydrocodone is equivalent to 200mg of codeine. That is without accounting for incomplete cross tolerance, it sounds like you have used hydrocodone a number of times and might have built a slight tolerance to it.

I think you should be fine with 200mg or so of codeine for a first go, if you are using pills that are codeine mixed with other substances like APAP or ibuprofen then please ensure you do a cold water extraction (CWE), as taking enough of these tablets to ingest 200mg of codeine would likely result in an overdose of APAP or ibuprofen. If you are using pills which necessitate you perform a CWE then I would use about 250mg of codeine because you are going to lose some in the process.

I don't have any experience with hydrocodone, it is unfortunately unavailable where I live, but I should point out that codeine is probably the itchiest drug in the class of opiates/opioids that I have used personally. You might want to use an antihistamine to counter act this, I would advise you avoid antihistamines that inhibit the CYP2D6 enzyme because I have always found they reduce the effectiveness of codeine considerably, especially if used beforehand, it is worth noting that promethazine is a CYP2D6 inhibitor.

It would probably be better to use a non sedating antihistamine as opposed to one of the more sedating ones, but if you were to opt for a sedating antihistamine (I like doxylamine succinate personally) then you should probably try a slightly reduced dose of codeine to account for the additional sedation the antihistamine will cause, 150mg might be a more sensible dose in this case.
 
Okay thanks guys I'm just not going to bother with Codeine, seems like a waste. I'm just going to try to find Oxycodone.
 
but if you're thinking oxy... start low. Oxy doesn't have the buffer /apap in it and will hit you harder . Let's say a person who pops say 10 X 5/500's or 5X 10/325's shouldnt go thinking they can take 50MG oxy like it's the same. It hits harder and the rush might be too intense to be considered pleasurable . From what I read, with your tolerance there's no reason why on an empty stomach 10MG or 15MG of oxy wouldnt have you flying.
 
Obviously it is your call but I don't think you are making the wisest decision, you have your whole opiate using career to try out oxycodone, you may as well get the most enjoyment out of milder opiates while you still can.

You might find if you start using higher does of oxycodone that drugs like hydrocodone, tramadol and codeine will not give you as much enjoyment, because you have a stronger drug in the same class to compare them to.

On the flip side, these drugs are often highly enjoyable to users without experience using harder drugs like oxy, especially when you are still inexperienced with them.
