Codeine Dosage

OK I have come into some "Panadeine Forte" tablets, which are 30mg Codeine and 500mg Paracetemol (I believe this is APAP in the US). I did a search on codeine and it didn't come up with anything, so for an opiate virgin what dosage should I take (orally) which would give good effect? I'm not particularly worried about the APAP as I am not going to be doing this regularly, but of course I do love my liver so within reason please. Also on the box the active ingredient is labeled Codeine Sulfate - I'm assuming that's just the form that it is currently in and should still be seen as 30mg of codeine. Anyway, opinions/reccomendations would be appreciated.
