With Codeine, you want a CYP2D6 inducer and a CYP3A4 inhibitor.
Most CYP2D6 inducers (what you want) are also CYP3A4 inducers (what you do not want...).
These substances don't potentiate Codeine?
I can only assume that it will be a much of a muchness..... More codeine will be converted during it's first pass around your body, whereas more morphine will be eliminated on it's first pass. I suppose it would depend on how fast one's metabolism is...... but IMHO it would seem that inducing both these enzymes would produce a shorter, but more intense experience...
So, yes, the codeine will be potentiated.....but you'll be getting rid of it (as morphine) quicker and more effectively.
PS:
Peoples, be careful playing with carbamazepine - and any other antipsychotic/anticonvulsant/sedative that is an antihistamine (such as mirtazepine and dermazepine). These drugs are generally prescribed to knock out fairly intense mental disorders. They are not without some pretty crazy sideeffects. Apart from knocking you completely out, they play pretty serious games with your brain chemistry.
I've have had two friends who have been taken off carbamazepine because both of them, at one point during their respective treatments, went completely fucking nuts (ie. flipped out and went became insanely aggressive for a short period). These antihistamines have been known to aggravate hitherto unknown mental disorders, causes amnesia and extreme agression.
If you still want to take it as a potentiator, know that a single 200mg pill will put you on your ass. I would recommend taking a quater with any amount of codeine at the most.
Maybe there are other safer anti-histamines out there that will poteniate codeine?
Respect and Peace
