Someone help please!

Ok the first time I tried a cwe about 3 weeks ago I did a very avg extraction with about 100ml of water + 14 Panadeine Plus (15, 500 APAP) that left a cloudy solution with a little precipitate at the bottom of the glass. I stupidly drank this and experienced a good codeine buzz but also severe pain around the bottom of my rib cage in the centre. I was gassy and burping alot while my stomach/liver/whatever churned. I figured this was due to the excess paracetamol but the feeling was instant.

Fast forward 3 weeks and I tried again with 10 tablets and a proper filter that resulted in a much clearer solution that was just slightly milky. Again after drinking I felt my stomach instantly gurgle and the unpleasant pain/gassy discomfort followed making the codeine buzz no fun at all.

Three days after that (today) I tried with just 6 tablets so 90mg codeine 3g para all up. Using only about 30ml of water I filtered the solution through two paper towel layers yielding a very clear solution. Wanting to avoid any problems I ran this through a coffee filter that caught nothing and again through another paper towel layer extracting nothing. I took a photo of this resulting solution which is still not clear but I have read that this can be expected due to binders etc. The residue is on the outside of glass not inside.

Again after drinking this I experienced the same unwell feeling, pain/cramping at the top of my abs and the constant gassy feeling taking away from my nice buzz :(

I have taken un filtered fortes before up to 4 and never had any problems so I don't think it's an allergy. Any input at all would be awesome because I'm stumped :\

pain/bloating/cramping feeling happens around here.

Are you mixing the solution with anything to cover the flavour?

Other than that, how high are you getting? Could it just be opiate nausea? I wouldn't exactly describe it as gassy but besides that it sounds alot like how I would somehow feel when I'd overdone it... I'd basically have to lie perfectly still and munch on something plain like a piece of bread.

Another thought: There are a few odd brands that make their pills differently, some seem to put a horrible tasting chemical in them which might be having an effect, others use this strange gluggy yellow stuff... although it doesn't sound like you've got that.

That's about all I can think of at the moment... Unless it's something to do with your 'regularness' and the constipating effect of codeine, although that seems unlikely to be related.

Perhaps there is something else up with your stomach and the codeine is just exaggerating it?

Can you think of anything else that might be going on? What is your diet usually like? What do you eat/drink directly before/after? etc...

Really appreciate the reply <3

Not crazy high or anything just a nice subtle feel which is very overpowered by the discomfort/pain. Without bud to smoke I would probably have gone to er first time.

As soon as the solution goes down my stomach starts to churn, I am burping a fair bit and feel bloated. It feels like there's a metal - acid reaction going on inside me.

They are a mainly black packaging with red writing I think.
I eat cleanly and workout regularly.

My best guess is that the foul taste is acting as a psychological trigger for nausea, I've had this happen with CWEs before.

Do the CWE as normal, filter well, then add some Ribena or strong juice concentrate. Some effervescent vitamine tablets work well for this too.

Maybe you don't react well to opiates/ codiene? Any experience with pure codiene pills and/or other opiates?

I get this absolutely every time, but for me it's the taste that I've associated with the inherent opiate nausea.
I feel sick if I even think of the vile taste of codeine, eugh.

Sounds plausible because yeah I just slam it down. Will update thread with results in a few days.

No never had pure codeine but like I said when I had some fortes I never had issues.

Little bit confused as to what you've previously taken? If you've never had 'pure codeine' (codeine phosphate) then it may just be an opioid reaction which is fairly common, a quick Google of 'Codeine Stomach Cramps' will bring back a billion pages. When my friend first tried codeine he was acting like his appendix had exploded and ended up admitting himself to hospital embarrassingly enough.

Can you just clarify what you mean but 'taken un filtered fortes before up to 4'?

As in (30mg cod phos, 500 APAP) I used to crush then up and just drink unfiltered never had issues.

Ah okay thanks for the clarification. Due the fact that you've not had adverse reactions to ~120mg codeine in the past and you are now is somewhat confusing. You've kind of proved that biologically it's probably not the CWE going wrong because you've stomached it before with ample ACAP.

Based on this, the only thing I can think of is that you're having an adverse reaction to something else in the Panadeine.

I would try a different brand and see how that goes fairs with you. But honestly, I don't think anyone on bluelight will be able to offer a solution. If I were in your shoes I'd first try a different brand and then see how that goes, if it's still bad I'd visit your GP and say you've had a banging headache for 2 weeks in the hope of getting codeine phosphate prescribed. If you then take that and you have stomach pains, it's the codeine. If you don't, then it's something in the pills you're taking.

Play safe,

Rybee :)

Thanks! Maybe I did something the very first time I did a dodgy cwe that has somehow messed up how I stomach it.

My other thought was that yes something is in the tablets causing the reaction. I might try the ibuprofen split instead.

I will probably try again with 6 of the 15s + flavouring and possibly not drinking all in one gulp. Ill update with results incase anyone else experiences similar.

Yeah I'd be interested to know how you get on. Of course as you say, you may have done a particularly poor CWE and upset your stomach which is now giving you grief. I've never done it with ibuprofen (can't take NSAID's) so can't say much about that, but if you feel it's worth a try then go for it.

could just be that you have a sensitive stomach - even the small amount of paracetamol could be having an impact.

Do you normally take it on an empty stomach? If so I would suggest eating something directly beforehand.

All times but 1 I've ate an hour or two beforehand.

Found this in my googling, could be related.
Other symptoms of IBS are:

abdominal pain, often due to the spasms mentioned earlier or trapped gas, the pain may be sharp and well defined or dull
bloating (burping and gas), usually occurs right after meals and tends to be worse at the end of the day or during the night

Great success! Made a 120mg codeine solution from 8 +s, filtered through paper towel and cotton pad then diluted and added a fizzy orange vitamin tablet.
Will upload pic but I think my extraction was well done.

I still kind of felt the sensations but I drank it over an hour or so in sips and it was never painful just a very small discomfort every now and then which might not happen other than me having then yesterday somewhat persisting today.

So maybe it's something to do with the concentration of paracetomal or taste but I didn't really mind it straight. Could have also just been me spacing out dosage who knows. If I buy another pack in the future ill post an update.

Use my program to estimate APAP toxicity:

http://ge.tt/828ogdk/v/0

I ran the program with your data assuming 25C room temperature water and the diagnostic was:

1.51g of disolved acetaminophen,
Ingesting the solution is safe occasionally,

The extraction was not efficient but it was ok I guess. I assume it was anxiety...
