Codeine cough syrup

im getting a codeine cough syrup prescribed to me for bronchitis and a badddd cough...so its not recreational its to help me.

But might as well enjoy it while i have it? what could i use to potentiate or however its spelled.. i know a benadryl could, but would that work good with a normal codeine dose?

and i also know smoking a cig makes it feel a little better...

ive also used alcohol, but i know thats very dnagerous, so im wondering if anyone has run into anything to amp up the affects of codeine?

EDIT: i know how to make lean, but i dont wanna abuse it that bad..i dont wanna hop back on the wagon..haha i just want to use my normal dose, but have it feel as good as it can
 
Some (read: most) codeine cough syrups come with promethazine in addition to the codeine, which means its pretty much already got a potentiator in it. If you have any opiate tolerance at all, however, it isn't going to be very recreational. Some research shows that codeine is actually less effective as a cough suppressant than things like DXM. Also, smoking cigarettes with bronchitis isn't going to help you...
 
lol smoking cigarettes is the reason i have bronchitis...and yeah i havent used any opiates in about a month..the codeine was prescribed because im ripping up my throat with this cough. would a benadryl help though?

i see this as a free ticket to enjoy a little opiate without doing illegal things....as sick as that sounds.
 
Well cigarettes are legal, but in your situation they would probably do more damage than any other illegal/legal drug out there.
 
Nope, no promethazine in Cheratussin AC according to this source. So yes, Benadryl is a good idea. Chlorpheniramine and doxylamine are also good antihistamines (Benadryl/diphenhydramine doesn't work for some people).

Another thing to keep in mind is the guaifenesin in that preparation can cause nausea if you're taking high doses. Benadryl will help with the nausea as well.

My advice is to use it as directed or as close to as directed to help with your cough...as far as using Benadryl to potentiate, don't go higher than 50mg or so of Benadryl as higher doses don't usually help and can even override the opiate effects. Of course, with something like bronchitis, you want to be getting as much rest as possible...so 25-50mg of Benadryl will not only potentiate the codeine but also have a marked sedative effect. ...which is probably for the best so you can get better quicker.

Yeah benadryl would help especially if codeine makes you itchy. I know how you feel wanting to smoke a cigarette. I have COPD and numerous bouts with bronchitis this past year. I wake up every morning wheezing and coughing. Call me crazy but the only thing that helps is having a couple cigarettes but I would hate to see an x-ray of my lungs. Or see you 20 years from now with the same affliction. :(
 
i know..its weird it seems when i cough the worst, a cigarette helps stop the cough.
and if im 17 and already having bronchitis and coughing like this enough for a codeine prescription...i can imagine 20 years from now...

i hope i get better soon. fearing the main part of my cough may just be from smoking, even though i hope not.
 
You're too young for emphysema but try to cut down if you can. The scary part is the only thing that helps calm my cough down is another cigarette or a nebulizer treatment. The last time I went to hospital, the doctor wanted to know who was my pulmonologist. What? I don't have one and he looked at me like I was stupid or something.
 
definitely dont smoke ciggs if you have bronchitis . i agree with everony else, you could also take some DXM cough syrup to help with your cough, DXM is great because it raises your coughing threshold better than opiates and also gives you a nice buzz with the codeine.

DEFINITELY go to the store and buy white grape fruit juce, i buy Simply Greatfruit. a like pink color is refered to as white grape fruit juice, even though most are like pink. simply grapefruit is the best because is 100% concentrate which means it is only pure grapefruit and water to make into juice. WGFJ is the because it is the best gfj at inhibiting 3A4 which metabolizes codeine into norcodeine which is significantly weaker than codeine

i sound like such a druggy doing this, just see an opportunity at a legal feel good..so im trying to take advantage of it ;) hahah

and the smoking thing is gonna be tough to stop. ive only been smoking for a year so itll be easier than for some people.
