I had some OTC meds imported from the UK, they contain a mere 8mg of codeine, 30mg of caffeine, and a WHOPPING 450 APAP in each pill. I performed a CWE, twice, so I am confident that most of the APAP is gone. Now I am left with the Codeine and caffeine in water. I searched and searched (even found a way to get caffeine out but ONLY if the med has aspirin, not APAP like mine).
So, does anyone know what I have to do to get the caffeine out of the codeine water? Needless to say, I just want the codeine, I am not trying to get down to pure caffeine, i just need the cafffeine out of there. Any ideas?

Without a lab or solvents, you can't. This is what prevents people from doing effective CWEs in canada with OTC codeine/caffeine pills.

Dang. Oh one more question. I found that I can order a product that contains only dihydrocodeine and paracetamol, if I were to obtain those, I could successfully perform a CWE right? I do not know much of anything at all about dihydrocodeine. Ill have to look it up. Of hand though, do you know if it is a prodrug? This thread can be closed since you answered the main question.

I'm not a Basic Drug Discussion mod, so I have no powers here.

DHC and paracetamol pills are fine to do a CWE on, but many people find dihydrocodeine less pleasurable than codeine. I don't think its directly active - if it is, it's not very strong. Probably a prodrug for glucuronidated metabolites and dihydromorphine.
