Codeine and Valium

Was on loraz, diaz, and DHC today, dosed up before sitting a maths paper. Might as well fail feeling good.

Now the really incapacitating one is Lyrica and codeine/DHC. I took loraz, Lyrica, and DHC one night, was fun, got as noddy as I've ever been, body turned to jelly, drooled a bit. Was a lot of fun. Woke up the next morning in exactly the same state. Had to go to school. Wasn't pretty.

Lyrics is awful..... Fucks you up big style but not enjoyable at all.... I've have to take it every day for my back and I hate it....

It's weird though how you go to sleep and wake up just as fucked the next day :)

The Lyrica certainly made me enjoy the benzos and opies more, but it left me a mess the next day. Probably didn't help that I also took my nightly zopiclone. I was sent home from school when I almost fell out of my chair, and the school called my CPN, as the nosy buggers always do. Had to tell my CPN I'd taken too much loraz, as I couldn't let on that I'd been experimenting with non-script shit. They may or may not have sent a letter to my GP. I won't find out until I next see her. They may or may not be taking my loraz dose down. Fuck my life.

Unfortunately hun I think its a certainty that they will write to your gp.

From a professional standpoint it would be massively irresponsible for them not to.

A few years ago I was doing an office job for a few months in headquarters and I accidentally took too muck lyrics the previous night and apparently I was a drooping wreck.....luckily since its prescribed I could tell them what it was.......still got sent home though. It was more embarrassing than anything else but since they knew I had just undergone back surgery and most of my workmates were either paramedics or nurses they were quite understanding.

I hope you don't mind me asking hun but why are you on such large amounts of benzos for such a long period of time. They are usually only effective short term and aren't usually prescribed like that. Especially in one so young.

Engz is right normally its 2 weeks for valium as there dead scared of fighting law suits when 2 years down the line your taking 40mg a day and cant function without it.

I get a private script for 21 a month as my Doc won't let me take them every day - I only use them once in a while and have loads stashed away, trouble is I take them either on top of wine or gear so the only effect is falling asleep but the 30m or so before I nod off is very pleasant : ) . THIS IS V BAD H.R AS BOTH ARE CNS DEPRESSANTS

So is Codeine n Val's same as gear but just a bit weaker or is it a different hit? I haven't had any Df's for years no point when you use B

Mixing CNS depressants such as opiates/opioids with benzos and/or alcohol is generally not advised. The only time I seriously OD'd was when I IV'd a quarter of a bag of H on top of loads of clonazepam when I was between habits. Having said that, I do enjoy the combination, you just gotta be careful (and preferably have a bit of tolerance). Bad HR though, so don't do as I did....

Completely right...... I've seen several people who have overdosed from an opiate benzodiazepine. Combination and not survived.

It is very dangerous most people tend to underestimate the cumulative effect on respiratory depression......

Please be safe folks <3

I've never really understood the lure of codeine, all that itching and not much of a high - I only ever used it as a heroin replacement and even then i needed 5-10 df's every few hours. But some people swear by CWE - then again if your skint and your chasing a buzz a couple of packs of co-codomol only gonna set you back a fiver or so

You wont if you have used heroin it wont do anything mate it does naff all to me these days, when i was naive it was like a relaxing anti depressant made me wired as fuck and i would pace around endlessly or gouch. Daily use turns it into a pointless substance you only take for the relief of not feeling like crap. Like heroin really

Since both codeine and heroin are metabolised into morphine in the body I imagine it is similar.....obviously different ROAs but probably the same in the end
Codeine is also metabolised into norcodeine, which isn't really active and codeine-6-glucuronide, which is apparently responsible for up to 60% of the effects of codeine. On this basis, I'd say that heroin and codeine probably don't feel the same. I've been in trouble with codeine and it's not pleasant. I was taking 500-2000mg a day, for a couple of years. I had to go on bupe, to get off it. They wanted to put me on methadone, which they've done to a friend, for the same reason, but I said I'd prefer bupe. I'm happy I chose bupe, because I've been off it for about 16 months now, whereas my friend is still on his initial dose of methadone, over a year down the line.

Regarding benzos, I've taken them for nearly a decade (prescribed for about five years) and they still work for me. I don't take them daily, however. Every 2-3 days and only 15-20mg of diazepam.

I'm also prescribed Lyrica (pregabalin), which I've almost stopped now and despite the massive weight gain (of which I've now lost over half of), it helped me enormously with my anxiety. I don't like to throw the term 'wonder drug' around, but it definitely helped me sort my head out.

Less is more with pregabalin for me.

I get optimal effects from 50-75mg per dose and I've been taking it almost daily for 2,5 years now. I'm still very satisfied with it. It is stimulating as well as anxiolytic/disinhibiting at that dose (kinda like small bit of cocaine mixed with a light dose of GHB.. really) and the effects last four to six hours, so I usually take three doses per day.
If I go over 75mg it gets more messy, 150mg+ is drunk-like with motor control loss and slurring and very stimulated. Sometimes edgy or irritated. Memory issues. And strange visual field effects: oversaturated colors and manky depth perception.. Worse though, withdrawal gets savage if I stay on a high dose daily (been on 600 and even 900 a day for a while).
But if I don't go over a limit of 3x or 4x 75mg per day the withdrawal/rebound is negligible, can stop it cold turkey. I don't get much weight gain at this dose either.

It has odd effects when taken together with my codeine (seems to potentiate opiate effects, postpone withdrawal).
