Opioids Codeine and Oxycodone

Tonight I'm planning on taking 1g of codeine and 80mg of oxycodone, is that safe? I obviosuly have a very high tolerance to codeine, so I figured a cross tolerance would exist.
I have only ever taken oxycodone once and it was just 5mg to make sure I wasn't allergic.

If it is safe, do they interact with each other? May i expect diminished/increased effects?

I'm guessing from your reply it's probably too much. I'm cwe'ing the codeine and eating the oxys. Should I try 40mg instead?

I guess it depends on where 1 gram of codeine alone would get you. I would, frankly, suggest starting with maybe 10 mg of oxycodone on top of it. I know that might sound very low, but you don't know your level of cross-tolerance to oxycodone, or how oxycodone really effects you. I certainly would not suggest 80 mg oxycodone - just TOO much. If 1 gram of codeine gets you feeling good, an extra 10 mg oxycodone might do more than you think by augmenting the opiate high, probably making it more euphoric and more stimulating. I really would try the 10 mg oxycodone, even if the dose sounds petite.

I have tried a low dose of oxycodone and it didn't necessarily do much. I shall try 10mg like you said.

Are there any interactions between the two? I don't want to waste them :/

It's fine to take oxycodone and codeine together, it's just taking opioids on top of opioids so the risk would be taking too much. You will have the combined effects. You didn't say what your normal tolerance level was. Like how much codeine do you normally use at once? There will be some cross-tolerance but it won't be 100% and everyone responds to different opioids differently, sometimes very differently, so the best thing to do is start low. You can always take more if it's not enough but you can't undo it if you take too much.

If 1 g of codeine normally gets you high DO NOT take 80mg oxycodone on top of that. Oxycodone is normally at least 10 times stronger than codeine, so that would be like taking close to twice your normal dose (and that's even without taking incomplete cross-tolerance into account).

this sounds really really dangerous. i always felt like cross tolerance between opiates like codeine/morphine and synthetics like oxycodone/hydrocodone is very little. maybe it's just me. nonetheless, this sounds super dangerous to me

To me even 1gram of codeine sounds like too much. You should switch drug if you've developed such a tolerance and still using codeine.

codeine doesn't have a ceiling dose. it's a myth. the problem with codeine over doses of 500-600 are not as well metabolised as the doses beforehand, therefore meaning that 100mg on top does not act as if you had 100 more mg of codeine. it also produces a whole host of side effects that are a lot more unpleasant when you plan on taking over 600mg.

if i were you i'd just take 500-600mg of codeine along with the 80 of oxy ONLY if you have a hefty tolerance to opiates.

Ceiling effect or not, I don't know how anyone can handle the histamine response and GI effects from ingesting hundreds to thousands of milligrams of codeine.

@OP, we don't really know your tolerance so it's hard to give any dosing advice, besides this: codeine is a pretty weak opioid, even if you take a lot of it, your tolerance is likely still not going to add up to anywhere near 80mg oxycodone, so you'd be asking for an overdose. I would strongly encourage you to be responsible with your abuse of opioids and not recklessly consume large amounts of oxycodone.

Cut the codeine down to 400mg or less, taking a gram of codeine will be nothing but unpleasant. It will brick up your bowels solid..

Take the oxy and save the codeine for another day even.

I used to use Codeine CWE at high amounts as well, and as a result I thought I had a big opiate tolerance. I was using around 400 - 600mg of Codeine a day at the time and my friend had an operation. He was prescribed Oxycodone and he gave me two pills.

I forgot how much mg they were, but they were very low, maybe the 5's or 10's (mg). I took both and was VERY suprised at the effects. It wasn't anywhere near OD level, but it hit me way harder than I thought it would, and I realized it's potential at that very moment.

Be VERY CAREFUL. Do not add the 80mg on top of your dose.

I had the opposite teo.. Took 50mg oxy on top of codeine and it barely made a difference. I think I hyper-convert codeine to morphine though, because when I started I used to completely nod out on 100mg codeine. I found it took me 80mg oxy to feel about the same as i did from my 550mg codeine dose. (taken separately on their own, not together)

just be very careful.. youve no idea how effectively you convert codeine to morphine, so it could have a greater effect than you realise, or lesser. I'd start with perhaps 20mg, provided you have a bit of codeine tolerance - ie your codeine dose doesnt make you nod out on its own.

Hey, I forgot to reply so I'm replying now.

I did 1g of codeine and 40mg of oxycodone. Strangely enough I had the same effect as the person above me, I felt no noticeable difference, which really p'd me off.
The next morning I was quite sick, I woke up sweating quite violently, I vomited, went back to bed, and felt better early in the evening. I have no I idea whether this was from the oxy or not, it may have been the pasta I had earlier.

Maybe I just don't deal with oxycodone very well :/ oh well.

Sorrry but what the helll are you thinking.. ?? ....you only ever did oxycodone once at 5mg dose and now the second time you plan to jump all the way up too 80mg...?.
Are you joking or....? buddy do like 500mg of codeine plus 30mg oxy or something. Also codeine has a ceileing effect at about 400-500mg from what ive heard...doing 1 gram is a waste.
