Codeine and Morphine Urine detection times...

ok... I have tried to use the search funtion to try and answer my question.. but I couldnt find anything sufficient enough to make me satisfied...my question is in regards to Opiates and drug screens...
Since late monday night I have been perscribed to a cough syrup containing 10mg's codeine phosphate per 5ml solution...and I should finish the bottle here in a day or two...so that might show up in my urine screen that I have next Friday, but Im ok for that since I have a perscription for the cough syrup....the thing I am concerned with relates to mscontin...
Within the next day or two, for one reason or another.. i might be taking 30mg's of mscontin... my question is with my opiate tolerance and piss somewhat dirty from the codiene... how much do you think the mscontin will effect my piss? I searched on erowid and it said morphine is in the urine for at least 84 hours... but that doesnt help much seeing as it as "at least"... I was wondering if i give myself 5-6 days to clean my urine of the opiates I have been taking (primarily mscontin) if I should be safe, or wait until after my urine screen...The urine screen I might be taking is being administered by a law enforcement agency....so if anyone more educated in this area could help me out it would be greatly appreciated...

Foe a simple urine drug test,5 days should be sufficent to clear your body of morphine,BUT,your taking a Law Enforcement Drug test,and that means they may by pass a urine test and give you a Drug Hair Folicle Test! Morphine can be detected in your hair for up to one month! Take your 30mgs of MSContin after your test and be safe!

Yeah, if you haven't taken them yet and your drug screen is coming up just wait until afterwards. When dealing with urine screens, and particularly law enforcement urine screens, it's much better to be safe rather than sorry. And they will definitely try to make you sorry.

Let's not forget how many "False positives" come back..because it happens. Drug testing is a billion dollar plus a year business and it has by no means been perfected. Ay given number of 'non addictive" drugs can mix with others (or by themselves), and come a back false positive. Heck, eating enough poppy seed cake or bagels can bring one back positive, as do certain anti-biotics. Don't make the mistake of taking a urine test as absoulute proof of anything. And don't let the 'guilty' mindset of being an addict trick you into confessing something that is just not true. Hope the following sites answer some of your questions.

Forgotten is right... Tests cant tell the difference between codiene and morphine... They also cant tell heroin from morphine... Your cool, just show them the perscription and youll probably have your testing date moved back.

^^^^Are you sure about that? I saw a test that tested for both morphine and codeine. Im not sure how that works, but there might be a way to differentiate between the two. If not, I dont know why the test listed both morphine and codeine seperately.....
