Opioids codeine and "GUAIACOLSULFONATE AS POTASSIUM"

i have a bad cough/cold and my doctor prescribed me this syrup and each dose contains 15mg codeine / GUAIACOLSULFONATE as potassium 1500mg, 4 times a day

but 15mg codeine is nothing i would need at least 150mg codeine to feel it.... but is 15000mg of this GUAIACOLSULFONATE too much??? can it kill me?

its purpose is to clear airways of mucus so i can breathe freer
 
It seems a lot.
In Poland codeine comes in 15/300 tabs and it's thought to cause gastric ulcers in the long run.
So people take even 6000mg of guaiacolsulfonate without noticable immediate negative effects, but, well, it's still much less than 15000. I wouldn't risk.
 
Guaiacolsulfonate is an expectorant sort of like guaifensin, it shouldn't harm you but it might make your stomach feel wierd.

Consuming huge amounts of potassium is not a good idea though. If it's the potassium salt and you eat enough of it your heart could get fucked up electrically. Better to not drink large amounts!
