Codeine and dihydrocodiene cross tolerance

I usually dose 450-600 mgs of codeine but have never tried dihydrocodiene.

Is there much of a cross tolerance between them and if usually dose 400+ mgs of codeine with minimal effects at this point due to my high tolerance how much dihydrocodiene should I start out with?

there's definitely cross tolerance involved. dhc is generally seen 1.5x's potent as codeine. if you usually dose 400mg i'd start with 150-200mg and go from there.

yeah, just work it out. 300mg codeine is about 200mg DHC, so looking at it like that you can easily figure out the dose that you need to take for either based on what you have used before.

Cheers for the reply, I tried the other day dosing 200mg with barely noticeable effects so there must be some cross tolerance involved I'm also a previous oxycodone and pethidine addict so I'm sure that would have increased my tolerance to opiated in general somewhat, it'll be a while till I can get a hold of some more so I'm kinda disappointed but hey, better safe than sorry!

With a tolerance to 400+ mg of codeine, it makes sense that DHC doesn't do much, neither are very strong opiods. Honestly you may wanna think about a taper or at least a small break in order to reduce tolerance. WD are gonna be a bitch.
