Opioids Codeine and DHC

Hi Iam going to try out some of that codeine next week and I have a question about tollerance: about a month ago I used Dihydrocodein (DHC continus) in 180mg doses three or four times recreationaly last dose was about a month ago anyway I have lost my opioids virginity with DHC I have never had any opioids before . I had a pretty good buzz from taking 180mg DHC and smoking some herb to it. I want to ask if 150mg of codeine would be enough for me I have never taken codeine only DHC. Also I have read a lot about the histamine release that codeine has so I want to ask if it would be ok to take one pill of zodac or loratadin half an hour before taking the codeine thnx for you responses. %)
 
I believe DHC is about twice the potency of codeine, per mg. But, from the name "continus" that sounds like a brand of extended release DHC, right? If so, 150mg of codeine all at once may be close to what you may feel at a given time during 180mg of extended release DHC.

Someone else will have to comment on the antihistamines you mentioned, because many antihistamines will interfere with how codeine (methylmorphine, by another name) is demethylated into morphine. Promethazine is one of few antihistamines that actually increases the demethylization. Many will reduce it so that you get very little opiate high.
 
Dhc feels completely different to codeine for me, it's so much nicer. Codeine has more side effects for me too, so dont expect too much from it. Apart from constipation which can be horrendous from codeine. Sars is right about the promethazine, it'll potentiate and reduce itching, but it will also make you really drowsy, so dont do something silly and go for a drive.
 
cetirizin might reduce the itchiness a little but it won't potentiate opiods. for that you'll need promethazine (best drug for this hands down), doxylamine or diphehydramine.
 
^ I haven't heard of cetirizini, but loratadine should be okay. I ended up taking 3 (total of 30mg) last time I took codiene due to a massive histamine release (I wouldn't recommend taking it all in one go on an empty stomach).

First generation anti-histamines such promethazine work better as they potentiate the opiate high, although I find they make me too drowsy, so I usually go with second generation anti-histamines such as loratidine and cetrizine.

Depending how far east you are in Europe you may well struggle to get promethazine anyway as it's well known for being combined with heroin and controlled tighter than in the US or UK if I remember correctly.
 
Promethazine is available in the uk as a sleep aid called sominex, its 20mg per pill. Shit does typing the brand break the rules?
