codeine after dxm

Is taking codeine one or two nights after taking dxm okay? I know they use the same enzyme (cyp2d6) for metabolism and codeine relies on cyp2d6 for activation so I'd prefer to not waste any codeine. Should I wait longer or is it fine? Thanks so much :)
