Yesterday, I had a very long dream about using codeine recreationally, as I have been very interested in opiates recently, and I'd like to see what everyone thinks about this.
The reasoning behind the dream is that my dream self (MDS) had started off her opiate adventures by using CWE to extract codeine from pills in the past weeks.
She started by using 7 8/500mg pills and experimented with long time intervals in between a couple more times - the highest dose MDS experienced was approximately ~254mg, her calculations and yield checked out in practice. She liked the high, the warm comforting, cozy sensation all over her body, the aiding of letting go of unnecessary anxious thinking patterns and 'opiate dreaming'/(nodding?) in the garden while it was sunny and hot.
However, after app. 6-10 experiences, MDS decided that she didn't want to put strain on her liver if larger-than-safe doses of acetaminophen were getting into her final product - she wasn't happy with being unable to calculate or test the doses of what she was ingesting so she decided to stop CWE.
That's not to say that MDS was happy with her experience of codeine. She was curious, so she did a little research and obtained a 200ml bottle of codeine linctus OTC (UK), which contained 15mg codeine per 5ml. She was excited, despite the many other ingredients in the syrup; many E#s; colouring agents and sweeteners.
She was glad there was nothing more harmful in there such as chloroform. Within the space of 5-30mins, she ingested 210mg with water. It was bitter and excessively sweet, just as MDS expected. Approx. 25 mins after ingestion, MDS started feeling a heavy, dirty head buzz - not unlike starting to feel hungover from lots of mixed alcohol. Her scalp also became abnormally itchy and flaming hot, when she looked in the mirror, her face was bright red.
MDS's family got back home and were questioning the redness of her face which she excused by saying she carried out a 20% lactic acid face peel for too long (used for reducing blemishes and acne).
MDS's mother, who is a medical doc, questioned if MDS had applied the acid on the area around her eyes as they were inflamed and red just like the rest of the face, a remark which MDS dismissed by panicking about "her skin peeling off". MDS would hate for her family to know that she did recreational drug experiments, in fear of them being disappointed, scared, angry and upset about her actions.
At this point, MDS thought to herself that she would have to stay calm and look out for swelling of the tongue/breathing difficulties, in which case she'd have to call a hospital/tell her mother the truth/tell her mother she was having an allergic reaction to X. The redness subsided within the next 1-2 hrs, as did the panic.
A couple of days later (in dream time), MDS had just finished her last exam for the year and she wanted to experiment again. She'd only slept for 4hrs the night before because she wanted to force in some extra study which she wasn't organised enough to plan and complete earlier. She had kept a bottle of 390mg codeine with a fizzy orange soft drink in her bag for 12-24hrs. She was slightly uneasy with her actions but MDS decided to (recklessly? Irresponsibly?) give it another shot.
Her thought blanket (fallback) was that if symptoms repeated and she was unable to breathe, she'd call the ambulance - what allowed her to be happy with this was that she was not home and her parents were away, so she didn't feel troubled by having to face them during her high/allergic reaction. She drank (roughly) 250-350mg of codeine within the space of 20-50 minutes. She was sitting in a cafe by the window at the beginning of the slurping session. She started to feel lightly euphoric stimulation all over her body and head.
Her eyes felt stoned and very sensitive to light (pin point process?) and she didn't realise how dizzy she was until she bent down to plug her charger. In the next 15-25 minutes the feeling of euphoria increased and she had trouble sitting up straight and keeping her eyes open, and every time she closed her eyes, all the sensations were of better quality/she felt more euphoric.
To prevent herself from falling asleep (despite the table being narrow and desk-like, facing the window with a narrow, hard, tall stool=relatively uncomfortable) she left the cafe after asking to have her barely touched coffee (she should've bought a hot choc...) placed in a take away cup, going to the toilets, and forgetting her takeaway cup.
MDS stepped out onto the busy streets and she felt heavy and slightly disorientated - she wished she could just call back on to a soft bed and lay there in complete silence. She walked along and each step was blissful, everything felt good - the warm sunshine and soft breeze felt unbelievably pleasant, and the physical motion of moving felt good, each step like a massage of MDS's body or perhaps like a waterfall of pleasure washing over and over her body in gentle waves.
She didn't want to listen to music as she felt 'perfect' just listening to the birdsong and street sounds. She felt connected and appreciated the beauty of each passer by, feeling like she wanted to help and love them and talk to them about anything. MDS walked back slowly in the direction of home and was left with her own thoughts.
She was aware of problems and tasks and complicated to do lists and she was able to clearly set out a rational plan for their achievement. Emotional issues were thought through with beautiful nostalgia and admiring appreciation of MDS's experiences (good or bad, she saw a silver lining) as well as a healing washing away of unnecessary guilt, worries or unconstructive self judgements and stressful "vicious cycle" thinking spirals.
She didn't feel as if she was pushing away/masking her problems but looking a them from a new perspective. MDS saw a comfy-looking patch of grass on a large school field which was starting to be lit by the sunlight (you never know with English weather). The moment she sat down, she almost couldn't help slowly falling onto her back... She was swimming in sunlight and she could now locate her euphoria more clearly as 'radiating' from her chest or perhaps the throat.
Her breathing got very slow and shallow (a worry regarding OD passed her mind but she immediately dismissed it due to the low dosage and type of drug) and with her eyes closed her head floated into a different state of being, consciousness with a reduced need of a body, and she began to walk around and do lovely things which she finds hard to explain of perhaps even to remember, all while laying on her back with her knees bent (MDS wants to apologise to people who were offended by her flashing - she had forgotten she was wearing a skirt and ladder tights and at the time she didn't care).
MDS was floating in an out of active consciousness and the sounds of a building site/buses passing by kept her awake. She enjoying this experience so intensely and deeply, that she'd forgotten to be utterly shocked and surprised at the potential of codeine. MDS imagined that this is what heroin would feel like...).
To prevent nodding off into deep sleep MDS carried on an intensely pleasant walk home, and upon arrival she couldn't resist undressing and falling back onto her bed. And then, it happened - she understood now the hype surrounding nodding. With her eyes closed, she experienced vivid day dreams but ever more intensely than she had outside. After what felt like many hours, she checked her phone and it had been around 20 minutes since she nodded.
She carried on this healing experience while her body and brain were being washed with rivers of euphoria until she fell asleep for a couple of hours, and woke up feeling spiritually and emotionally cleansed and renewed. She was at a loss for words at the potential of codeine and was very satisfied.
She also had around 40-140mg of codeine left and she's wasn't sure what to do with it as she doesn't know how long she can store it and what effect storage has on the drug.
This is where my dream ended. I woke up and I would love and appreciate comments and speculations and suggestions on MDS's experiences.
Thanks
