Codapane/Codalgin-Forte etc

Right now I am sitting in front of a computer in the library, browsing through MIMS Online subscribed by the library . Now, MIMS Annual is no longer printed as a book, except MIMS monthly.

Suprises me !!!

Codapane Forte is actually Paracetamol and Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate.

(As do Comfarol Forte, Prodeine Forte.)


Codalgin Forte is Codeine Phosphate.

When I take Panadeine Extra 15mg Codeine, I feel more to the sedation effect.
it could be the molecules.
But I get good effect with Prodeine Forte 30mg, and, Prodeine comes in 15mg ,too. So I supposed it is an OTC meds.

I might try, and ask the pharmacist whether they sell Prodeine 15mg as an OTC meds. ( S3).

Has anyone tried the OTC form of Prodeine 15mg?

prodeine 15mg? wtf are u talking about do a cold water extraction & have as much pure codeine without the paracetamol as u want.

Like Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate, Codeine Sulfate Hemihydrate etc. Hemihydrate is not the salt form of this Codeine, it just means that there are H2O molecules present in there. Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate = C18H24NO7P * 0,5 H2O

it also says its safe to do cwe with. but im not sure if this info is correct.

From the stronger to the weaker:
-20mg Codeine Hydrochloride = 17,1mg Codeine
-20mg Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate = 15,6mg Codeine
-20mg Codeine Phosphate = 14,7mg Codeine
-20mg Codeine Camsilate = 11,9mg Codeine

^ What he said. The actual codeine molecule is unchanged, it is the salt that is different and they would adjust the amount present so that it is equipotent.

I'm going to close this as we already have a few codeine threads floating around... it's getting a little crowded.
