So I was watching one of my favorite shows the other night, "A 1000 ways to die". And they were talking about this guy who died sniffing crushed up diamonds who mistaken it for cocaine. Anyway he ORIGANLLY was trying to get his fix of a drug cocktail apprently popular in Africa of gunpowder and cocaine. Anyone know what's up with this? What benefit would be in sniffing gun powder with coke? Cause I have plenty of both. lol.:?
 
I was pretty much joking. Although I am interested why it is so popular among war lords in Africa...like chemically what would it do to enhance the high? I remember them explaining it but I was half asleep.
 
I'm pretty sure that show pulls ideas out of its ass just for the entertainment value. I doubt much of what they say is actually true.

The only thing I can think of is that nitrate salts are vasodialators (improve circulation), but they're also corrosive, and gunpowder is usually mixed with charcoal and sulfur too, so it's a crappy idea.
 
That show always has the lamest puns for the death after the doctor finishes explaining why you die when your body explodes into tiny pieces, or some other obvious explanation.

What did they call that one? lol
 
Lol..I don't remember. Yeah "brown brown" sounds like it. And i know I googled myself only finding other people like me going "wtf"
 
The gun powder has nitroglycerin in it, the explosive.

Which is also used as a vasodilator to treat angina.

So I guess it would combat the vasoconstriction due to the cocaine.
 
I was just asking in another section for some vasodilator I could use to combat vasoc. of stims.. guess I have to visit Ammunition!

Seriously though, other than this effect of nitroglycerin I don't think it can be any good. Some people say its forced in dogs noses in dog fights to make them more violent. Maybe it does the same to people, maybe its sideeffect caused by the pain itself. A dog in pains would be more aggressive, makes sense eh.
What a disgusting sport btw.
