Cocaine or Laundry Detergent?!

Last night I was with my boyfriend, and he bought some coke. I've only done it twice, both times I was drunk and used it to sober up, and I've never snorted it either.
Anyway, I decided to get a little bit and rub it on my gums, and all it did was make my gums and tongue numb? The first two times I did that, I felt like I instantly got a rush, like I could feel it.. Last night I really didn't feel anything, and it kind of tasted soapy, like powdered detergent?

Have any of you had a problem like this? Do you think I didn't do enough, or it was just crappy quality?
Also, any tips on doing bumps? How long does the high last, what does it feel like? And what can help me with the come down?
