Okay, was reading other thread that talked about how when cocaine gets wet it changes into one of its metabolites-- benzylcognine (sp?). I know this is also what it turns to in body.

So theoretically, if you were to add water to cocaine in order to iV it, would it break down if you did not IV it right away?
What if it takes you long to hit a vein and hit say 30 min or an hour later? Will the cocaine significantly weaken? What of it's a day later? One time I put a premade shot away n found it next day and thought it wasn't full strength. But the. Bought I missed some. So reading about the breakdown to inactive metabolite in water just made me curious.

I haven't done coke in over a year, its mostly one of those weird mind questions more than a practical need to know.

Yes it will break down, every minute you spend messing around is more drug being destroyed. I would say after about an hour or two in solution the potency could drop to 50%, but it depends on temperature and concentration.

Using distilled water and keeping everything relatively cold and knowing what you're doing before you're going to do it (having all your stuff ready) is the best idea.

You should NEVER do a shot you prepped the day before, come on man.

Cocaine breaks down faster than H does into morphine, but it surprises me when people worry about it, because you really shouldn't pre-prepping shots. I've let one sit for several hours and was fine, but I've seen people get people get sick from doing a shot that sat just a few hours.

You should quickly prep your shot and then immediately inject, and you should have no trouble with bacteria or potency(well maybe with bacteria, but it certainly reduces the chances.

^^well, yes, normally I didn't preprep shots (lol particularly of cocaine as its not easy to stop that once started. This was more a thing of I made it n forgot about it. I don't remember if I passed out asleep or just got caught up doing something. It was well over a year ago). I used to pretty much set it up n go. But when I was doing a lot of coke IV it would get hard to hit already difficult veins... Doing cocaine years ago is what screwed up a lot of my good veins anyway--that and the years before syringes were available OTC and reusing was common.

I get out of control on IV cocaine so I've kinda let that go. I went back in the methadone clinic as well last year n don't IV anymore. Like I said it was more a question of curiosity as I can remember days taking 30 min to but properly hit (and other times taking 30 secs, go figure)

Thanks for the responses. I used to think I must have missed some (as it wasn't strong as I thought when I made it) but now I'm thinking it probably just broke down some

I respectfully disagree with the above posters who suggest that cocaine breaks down into Benzoylecgonine in water. I may be wrong, but would find a more scientific source before I would accept that explanation. Wikipedia suggests that Cocaine is metabolized into Benzoylecgonine by the liver.

IMHO the benefits of pre-mixing and pre-loading syringes for IV cocaine far outweigh any risk from bacteria, loss of potency or other minuses. If you pre-mix all the cocaine you will use in a session you know the potency of your shots after a test shot. If you pre-load your shots you avoid the risk of blunted needles or too fat shots as your motor skills and judgement fades late in a session.

Just my .02 cents . . .

Be safe, have fun.
