i tried cocaine two weeks ago or so.
my question is about my heart (not about mine, about yours an your experience).
there are sometimes where i use it and i feel just my heart rate a little faster and stronger. but sometimes (i think it were two times) when i use it 'continously' for some hours my heart start to 'hurt'. i used the word 'hurt' because is the only one i think fits, but its not really my heart 'hurting' is like a little strange sensation.
my heart rate is about 100 bpm, some times more, some times less.
i need an answer quickly 8(

Answer to what? I don't see a question.

Coke is a CNS stimulant. Your heart-rate is supposed to increase on it. If you're feeling your heart a lot more while doing it, sounds like a reaction that a dough-boy would have, having never done any hard cardio-vascular activity and feeling the heart struggle for the first time.

Yeah, its a stimulant. Up goes the heart rate. That's normal. My friend in med school informed me that unless it's above 160, you should be okay, maybe lay off it in the 140 to 160 bmpm range. It's normal to have a little chest tightness, that's the 'weird' sensation as well.

UTFSE I think.

Cocaine is cardiotoxic due to a combination of sympathetic NS stimulant activity combined with its local anaesthetic action. If you search, I wrote a detailed post about cocaine cardiotoxicity (but can't remember where - you'll need to find it!)

I'm wondering how old this dude is and if cardio -myopothy(sp.) is a contributing factor.

i'm in terrible cardio shape, my resting heart rate is around 80bpm, no big shock when it shoots to 100. hell after a sprint it has shot up to 160-180bpm+

i gotta stop smoking and start working out. :-(

just measured my current heart rate while sitting at my computer, 84bpm. sucks don't it?

DeathMask - your coke is cut to shit: search for posts by Le Junk... Coke will elevate your pulse but dirty coke will have you wheezing in your bed praying for rest 4-8 hours after.

..don't worry. You're among friends!:)

i'm 17 yo, i have not a perfecto physic condition, nor a bad one. i think i'm pretty healthy.
i believe it's good coke what i'm snorting.
i don't get any horrible comedown, and if i was smoking some grass i could go to sleep easily.

DeathMask,

If the coke is good, it will only slightly elevate your heartbeat. In fact, it won't even be anything noticeable.

If your coke is cut with amphetamine or ephedrine (my guess would be yes), then your heartbeat will become much more pronounced and uncomfortable. It may even get into the 120 or above range with minimal use. If this is the case, find a new dealer or wait until my upcoming end all thread on cocaine clean-up early next week.

Is the coke your getting providing you with what cocaine is suppose too? That would be a wonderful euphoria, increased talkativeness, impowerment, real sense of clarity, increased libido and a feeling of though everything in the world is perfect. If not, stop using what your getting. It's junk.

Read my upcoming thread next week on cocaine purification. It's going to clear everything up once and for all.

P.S. Coke and weed do not mix. In fact, weed will give your heartbeat a much more pronounced feeling. Something your trying to get away from. For Gods sake, try Valium. If not that, then at least Zanax.

i haven't used coke for over a year. but back when i was a heavy user, i found that my heart often "hurt" as well. i can't count the number of times i said "guys, my heart hurts." just slow down...

if you are anything like myself and everyone i know then coke turns you into a fiend. you should really just space the lines out and wait until the effects of the previous line wear off before snorting the next.

i agree that xanax or some sort of benzo is great when doing coke. it takes away a lot of the anxiety and paranoia. plus, when i used xanax before doing coke, i wouldn't crave the next line nearly as bad.

be careful!

Oh really now. You're saying that cocaine's CNS stimulating properties are very, very weak?

I'm going to have to disagree with LeJunk on this one, cocaine is very cardiotoxic as fastandbulbous said, and while in small amounts it shouldn't increase your heartrate much higher dosages certainly will give you that painful feeling. Even good coke will have this effect.

Lejunk, I think you are mistaken. Even pharm grade cocaine is toxic to the brain and heart of humans, it can trigger myocardial infarction and lethal arrhythmias.

Virtually -all- coke is cut with ephedrine. You take the good with the bad if you wanna do this drug, thats why I use it for special occasions ONLY. The negative health effects ( Increased BP, Increased heartrate, Damage to the nasal cavity ) just arn't worth the effect if you want to use it with any degree of frequency.

If you're doing it once in a while I wouldn't worry about it, my best friend (who happpens to be a CONDITIONED weightlifter and avid outdoorsman) complains often about his 'heart' hurting after a session with blow so I wouldn't say it accounts to your pains. I, on the other hand, am a bit out of shape now but when I use it doesn't really cause noticable problems other then nasal damage.

Have fun, be careful, and DON'T MAKE A HABIT OF IT!

(Edit : As for coke and weed not being a good combination, that is definitly a 'your milage may vary' deal. I personally wouldn't -dream- of doing coke unless I had at least a gram for the comedown and I honestly quite enjoy the effects when you mix them.)

My statements regarding heartbeat are based on great quality cocaine found up until the late 80's. I could party on that cocaine for 3 days straight without even paying attention to my heartbeat. Sure, it was elevated, but not to the degree where it was a concern or noticable.

Bare in mind that that cocaine did not cause paranoia or anxiety either. That is a new thing brought on by the introduction of amphetamines and ephedrine being used as cuts. Hell, I never experienced anything edgy on coke until the 90's. Now it's just commonplace to feel increased heartbeat, edgyness, ampyness, untalkativeness, paranoia, anxiety and just plain uncomfortable.

You would have had to have tried pre-90's coke to understand this. It was an entirely different drug. Great cocaine, and I know this will be hard for newer users to understand, actually makes you feel more calm than anything. Relaxing, euphoric, clarifying, impowering, sexual, talkative, wonderful. Does this describe your high? If not, your coke is cut with speed. It's that simple. And that is to blame for your heartbeat concern.

When I do coke today, I know exactly what your talking about. I feel as though I might actually have a heart attack! And this after doing only 5-6 lines. Rediculous!

You'd have to ask the few others on this site that can actually speak from experience. Any other statements regarding cocaine from new users would be mute.

Let me put it this way. Imagine cocaine feeling EXACTLY like the plateau stage of an ecstacy (MDMA) high. That's the stage right after everything calms down and you just feel wonderful for the next 3-4 hours. That's EXACTLY what cocaine used to make you feel like. Maybe your hearts elevated on an MDMA high too, but your really not aware of it or concerned about it now are you?

I'll put it this way. Cocaine didn't become sooooo popular for making you feel like shit. Do you honestly think people enjoy feeling paranoid, ampy, edgy, untalkative, penis inverted, anxiety and uncomfortable? I don't think so.

Coke became popular for the way that I described it made you feel. Nothing more.
