Hello all! I'm new here so I'm sorry if I am posting in the wrong thread, but here it goes.. I am taking 10mg of lexapro daily.. I have been for 5 months.. I have read articles about cocaine being unsafe on Lexapro (SSRI) but I have done it at least 10 times and have never had any problems. What is the big deal about taking cocaine while on Lexapro and WHY is it unsafe? Thank you..

The reasons you shouldn't take an antidepressant while taking recreational doses of a drug is due to a condition called serotonin syndrome. Which is a build up of excess serotonin in the brain many times caused by taking drugs with antidepressant which can be life threatening. Please be careful when taking lexapro and cocaine.
