Hello, I don't know if this topic has been covered elsewhere on the forum but I wanted to ask your opinion about my own experience... About a week ago I did c three days in a row, about a g each time - it was crappy c. The third day I was gonna do a last line and for some reason it felt like a bad idea, so i put the line back and only did a tiny drop. A few minutes later my heart started racing incredibly fast (I don't think it could have beaten any faster) and I felt a little weird, but was able to speak and move normally. My left arm was getting numb though. I went to the ER and all was normal, the EKG etc. My heart started calming down after about ten minutes, and was beating OK 30min later.

Two days later I did another tiny drop to see what would happen, and a few minutes later my heart started racing again. It calmed down after a few minutes but my left arm was a little numb again. So I haven't touched it in about a week now.

I had done those quantities and more before, and nothing like that ever happened to me. Has that happened to any of you? I am not sure whether I only have to take a break, like a few weeks, or simply not touch it again... your advice would be very much appreciated!

If you don't have any medically indicating reason for these occurrences (pre-existing heart condition, poor diet and / or lack of exercise, etc) then I would suspect that the crappy coke has something rather cardiotoxic in it, and I would stop using from that supplier, regardless of how "good they are."

We cannot speculate as to what else may have been in the cocaine, as there's absolutely no way for us to know. However, it's common knowledge that most places that get coke it's cut to hell and back, and often contains speed or meth even.

Do you have similar problems if / when you use amphetamines? Adderal, dexedrine, etc, for example? (Wondering if stims in general don't agree with you.)

My immediate suggestion would be to flush that batch of coke and bitch out whoever you got it from for having potentially dangerous stuff. If there's something life-threatening in there, and someone IV's it, that asshole dealer that stepped all over it has some blood on their hands.

^Good point.

There's no way to know what was in your cocaine (if there was indeed something else in the cut) but rapid heartbeat is common with all stimulants. Cocaine is cardiotoxic. If you have a pre-existing heart condition you should probably not do cocaine at all.

If you have chest pains or shortness of breath, contact 911 or your local emergency services number immediately.

^ this, definitely.

It is possible that the stimulation from the cocaine caused your heart to beat fast and irregularly (a fairly common condition called paroxysmal atrial fibrillation) but this would have been picked up on the ECG unless it had stopped by then, and it seems unusual that a tiny bit would cause such a reaction. This is all speculation though, as others said we don't know what was in your cocaine and internet diagnosing doesn't work very well! If in doubt, always get it checked out and I agree that you should probably get rid of that batch...

Stimulants = CNS stimulation = Rapid heart rate.

And like everyone else said. who knows whats in it. The ECG is also a good idea.

Me responding to this post was nearly pointless. Everyone has already offered great info. oh well.

Happened to me in college. Didn't go the the ER was scared to be labeled. Walked circles around my neighborhood until I felt better. Later found out my 'friend' who got it for me was an actual coke head and she added bunch of crap to the batch so she could take a lot for herself. If she had asked me to loan money I would have done that. People who are addicted don't always think straight. Yes, get rid of it and the person who gave it to you. I never found out what she put in there, well something white and powdery I guess:-) smelled like a cleaner now that I think about it. That did for me and I never touched that stuff since.

I am a coke addict. This happened to me after I obtained some high quality blow. I quit after that and had a horrible case of panic disorder I am still being treated for. Sounds like you got some good fire coke.

yea it does sound like anxiety if it you were fine for three days and then it still happens from even a bump a week later.

Cocaine can trigger anxiety.

Yea good coke will cause anxiety, I used to do alot and when i got good stuff I would always think my arm was going numb, I think I was phsycing myself out thinking I was doing too much. IVing is one hell of a rush anyway, I smoked a bit tonight and starting feeling that same way. I just try to calm myself down, take deep breaths to slow my heart. I very seldom use anymore. but like they said people use all kinds of crap to cut that stuff, be careful.

Thank you very much for your replies. I did get rid of that batch, I don't IV but according to a friend who does, there was no coke in it. He said he didn't get any high from it, and only felt kind of dizzy and nauseous or something. I guess I had done too much of whatever substance there was in that batch. I'm pretty sure my heart beat was above 250 for a few minutes. Never happened to me before.

I guess you're right, anxiety must've triggered my second crisis. My ECG is normal. I too didn't want to be labeled at the ER either but I also was afraid of dying like that. But definitely, the other day, I kept taking my pulse and was SURE my arm would get numb, and it did. My hand even got blue! Anyways, it may be in my head but here in France, the coke is usually really bad and cut like hell. Same with dope. I am afraid of doing a line now, even though I'd like to...

How was your breathing during this situation? If you were breathing heavier/slower or full on hyper-ventilating that would explain the arm numbness. I am a coke head myself, I get VERY good stuff, and can honestly say coke has never done this to me.

When I get panic attacks; however, it does. It starts with the chest feeling tight, then the breathing starts to go, then the arms. It starts with the left arm going numb, then the right one. Eventually (if it goes on long enough) my hands will start to club. That basically means there isn't enough oxygen in my bloodstream so the body stops the use of the extremities in order to compensate. My fingers will bend as far as they can at the bottom knuckle, and almost hyper-extend at the middle knuckle. Then my wrists start to curl back facing my fingers towards my inner elbow.

If any of the above things happened than a likely cause would be an anxiety attack. Coke is known to cause anxiety on the come-down, and given what happened the first time you took a "drop" you probably had some nervous feelings doing it again which could have triggered it to happen once again.

In response to what others are saying about cocaine causing anxiety - I too, since experiencing my first panic attack back in 2005, have to be either drunk or on a fair amount of Xanax to be able to maintain composure when I do that first line of the night (or day). Without either of those, I now usually end up experiencing a massive panic attack - which usually ends with me wasting tax payers' money and visiting the ER - from working myself up mentally.

Cocaine is the most stupid drug I have ever tried.............it affects people differently but mostly everyone gets the rapid heart beat, hate that feeling.

Aye, if you're ecg was clean, you're probably ok. I never thought about it til this thread, but i didn't have the anxiety problem i have until after a couple years of rough love with the blow... Hmm, like someone else said since then benzos or booze is the only way i have tolerated it since then, and its been a loooooong time at that! So i'd have to say anxiety, been there many times. :-\ stay safe man!

It's quite amazing, that panic thing. I guess that's mostly what it was. My breathing was actually normal, and I could speak, move etc. It freaked me out when my super rapid pulse got weaker, I couldn't feel it but yeah I guess the panic added to the effect of overdoing bad coke. And me too, I landed twice at the ER, wasting tax payers money, and when I asked the doctors for an explanation for what had happened to me after sniffing just a drop, all they had to say was "coke is bad, never do it! did you know it could cause heart attacks?" heh, I admit it isn't very pleasant to be labeled that way. I guess I'll try to get my heart stronger for a few weeks, exercise and such, before I think of trying coke again...
