If a person was taking dilaudid after a wrist surgery (Say 4mg every 3-6 hours), and wanted to optimize safety for cocaine usage (not much only a gram), what would be the best way to do this? How far ahead should dilaudid be discontinued before cocaine usage and how long after cocaine usage before going back to dilaudid?

If you have no heart problems, cocaine and hydromorphone make a wonderful combo. I used to inject both together, though you'd need way less cocaine if you did that.

You'll enjoy it. IMO, if you aren't IVing, then do the cocaine first and come down with dillies, fun times. You don't need to cease opiate use to use cocaine.

As stated above, there will be no problems with using cocaine while you stick to your prescribed dosing regimen of hydromorphone. The risks are those of cocaine itself, being cardiotoxicity, elevated blood pressure etc. Don't raise your dosage of the opiate while on the cocaine and you won't risk an overdose once the stimulant wears off.

Ah ok. So the big threat here would be taking too much of the opiate while on cocaine? Thx for response guys.

Also, I'm planning on "chilling" on the cocaine and not just blowing it all over a couple hours or less. Might sound like a dumb question, but is it safer to just get it over with, or just take it in small doses?

It's "safer" to take it spread out, yes. But you'll get less bang for your buck due to receptor downregulation.

That said, your plan sounds completely fine, especially if you're "chilling" on it.

Mmmmmm I just mixed up a nice D-ball that I'm about to shoot in a few minutes, it's going to be delicious. I think this is such a great combo! I've never had the opportunity to try a real speedball yet, but I hope to some day. Even the D-balls are a nice little treat now and then. It's not something that one would want to get in the habit of doing--well at least I wouldn't want to--but every now and then they're a good kick, for sure!
