this is not good. Shortness of breath/difficulty breathing is code for 'heart problem'. The cocaine is likely putting too much strain on your heart & not getting enough oxygen, causing shortness of breath.

Most certainly consider discontinuing the cocaine.

Also, consider anxiety, as anxiety-based panic attacks from panic disorders can cause chest pains/shortness of breath, which xanax also treats. Do you get simultaneous anxiety?

I think the most telling thing of all that is this: He said Xanax helped. It was clearly anxiety. I have panic disorrder, so now and then )esp if im by myself) coke brings on some panic attack symptoms. So I pop 1 or half of my 2 mg klonopins im prescribed, and about 20 minutes later im fine.

i have the exact same problem with breathing and the exact same remedy of benzos. usually xanax for me.
if you dont have any benzos, stretching and fresh air helps. i usually hold my arms straight up, stretch my torso and chest then stand up on my toes

if u can your hands on some trileptol and xanax you are golden. best post drug combo ever

Isn't the feeling of shortness of breath due to hyperventilation? Coke sort of deprives the heart from oxygen, so the heart would send a signal saying: "breath more, I need more oxygen". The result is hyperventilation (overbreathing). You feel like it's difficult to breath but in fact you're breathing too much. One should be wary of putting too much down to "anxiety". In most cases there's a medical reason underneath. I'm not saying my explanation is the right one though. My medical knowledge is that, say, of an educated layman.

I 2nd coke is a bad and fucking gay drug all around. You don't really know when your breathing problems or heart rate issues are just anxiety or an actual important problem, hence its a FUCKING bad drug PERIOD.
