So today I tried Cocaine for the first time. It was good coke, I only buy from reputable sources..the guy gets it from the source and there are thousands of "reviews" for this stuff. I've also had it EZ-tested and it's very high cocaine content. Very pure, numbing, flaky and oily.

The drug certainly was fun and did what it was supposed to do, the euphoria, "super-ego," confidence, etc. I took it in a nightclub. The duration of each line, which was ~100mg, was roughly 45 minutes. It was certainly fun!

The question I have is people who state that it is an instant craving after each line. In my experience, the first line I took (which was at home before I went out to test) had a crappy comedown after an hour, in a sense. It was more a 'feeling sick' kind of comedown where I just felt super hot and tired/anxious. Once I got used to it I was about to handle myself.

I only did about 350-400mg total throughout a 4-5 hour period. Each time a line wore off, I had no real intense craving to do more. I felt down for sure but I was able to compose and handle myself in the club fine. I would eventually take one line an hour which I think is reasonable just because it was fun and made the experience enjoyable.

Once I got home though, I had no desire. I was surely down from cocaine, no more euphoria or anything, but I didn't have any desire to redose. Why redose when I'm not in an environment to do so? I'm writing this about 4 hours after I left the club and about 5 after I've done by last line. The only issue I have is being wide awake, but that's just stimulant based. I feel perfectly fine in terms of anxiety.

Obviously I'm doing this as a more "once in a while" type of situation, but I can't see myself getting obsessed. Maybe if I do it every week or twice a week, but if it's done sparingly (like MDMA should be), I don't see how I can get hooked in.

Just wanted to get output on this from more experienced users. Also, assume it's quality stuff - top of the line - because I don't really buy bad coke, or at least not on purpose. Would rather spend a bit more $ for better stuff :)

Thanks!

If I am reading yor post correctly, your question appears to be along the lines of why you did not experience any significant come down from the cocaine....the answer is pretty simple....quality cocaine. The better the coke the less the come down & the less the other bad side effects. Coke has gotten a seriously bad reputation due to the high amount of people that are putting extraordinary amounts of cut in the product. Sad but true!

Just be careful of the "once in a while" train of thought. That's EXACTLY how all addicts started. Nobody first tried a drug with the mentality of "I'm going to be a full blown drug addict on this stuff"

You know yourself better than anyone else does..... but the drugs will know you even better.

Great answer. Dealers around my area even admit to me that their product is maybe 5-10 perecent cocaine and mostly novacaine, lidocaine, and b-12 vitamins:\

sounds like the coke you have is uncut with other active agents (ie no meth or other stims that ruin good blow).

The purity level may not be as high as you think, but it is good blow because it hasn't been stamped on with other active drugs that give undesirable effects.

if you get high, and aren't fiendy than you have pretty good cocaine.

I actually understand where the OP is coming from. There has been PLENTY of times where there is still coke going around and i say i am done. Once i start feeling nervous while i'm high i give up and say there is no point in keep feeding it. Ill sit there and watch my friends finish it off, and i won't have a desire to do more.
Some of you are just fiends, having no limits :p

If you think after using coke one time, you have any basis to predict how your future use is going to be, you're nuts.

I could not say it better.. the next best illusion coke pulls is that it isn't addicting because I went three weeks since the last time I really wanted to do it.. if you don't love it drop it now and don't look back or she will slowly swallow you whole.

There has been PLENTY of times
Seem to spend an awful lot of time around it:p

Thanks for all the inputs. I know this is a harm reduction website, and I understand cocaine is an extremely addicting substance.

Obviously doing a substance every X duration doesn't classify it as non-addicting, it still can be very addicting. But you can certainly make the argument that doing it sparingly is not addiction. For example, if I do MDMA 3-4 times a year, I really am not addicted to the substance.
Now obviously coke is inherently more addictive than a drug like MDMA - but that is where my original question lies. Of course I don't plan to get addicted to anything, like most people, and I understand the dangers of the drug. I've done a lot of research. Before I tried it, I was very worried that I'd have cravings to do cocaine the next day (like many do) or feel like complete and utter crap when I wasn't on it. I didn't feel that way at all - I felt down from a drug but had no real pulling to do more or take more. That's really what surprised me, because even a friend of mine who has done cocaine maybe twice says when he comes home and has extra stuff left he wants to really do it and actually does. I felt pretty content, but as Mr.Scagnattie said, I've only done it one time so I shouldn't be making assumptions.

My experience is that - within the bounds of what happened to me this past Saturday - I can't SEE myself becoming physically addicted to the substance. In all honestly, I prefer a more "magical" drug like MDMA (which I can't use very frequently for harm-reduction), and I'm fine with just sticking to alcohol most of the times. Cocaine was certainly fun and was very potent in its effects, but I'm cool with drinking and maybe the occasional low-dose Ritalin/Adderall when going out. I don't really "need" coke for social fun, it certainly has more effects than most drugs and makes the experience really cool, but I have a good degree of self control. And to give an example, I know a guy who has tried coke and did it like 3-4 days in a row because he loved it so much. I have easy access to it, I just don't have a desire to do it that often. I can "feel" the physical effects on my body; it is a pretty draining drug in that regards. Because of that, I am naturally inclined to be careful and limit myself on it.
