when you take a key bump of it and drop it in a shot glass of water, most of the powder will sink to the bottom. But, an oil will also form at the top of the water, is this oil the cocaine or is it some kind of cut?

i'm sure that the powder is either cut or it's crack.
if it's pure cocaine HCl it should dissolve in the water. if it's crack it's been stripped of the HCl molocule and it's insoluable in water.
i'm not sure what that oil could be. it might be the coke in solution, but i always thought it would make a nice clear solution when mixed with water.
but i'm 99% sure that the powder u have at the bottem is the cut.
try seperating the water and the powder at the bottem, let them both dry out, and then bump em and see what happens

i suppose, but if u want to do it an easy way use and eye dropper or one of those things that look like syringes but are used to give meds to babies.
just use the eyedropper/syringe thingy to draw off the water layer, squirt it out on a piece of wax paper and let that dry
then dump out the wet powder onto another piece of wax paper and let that dry.
if u have something to draw off the water(and you're not a kid or someone else who lives with thier parents) it shouldn't be a problem.

It's just apart of the process by which it's made, fairly common, it doesn't mean the coke is cut in the least...
