Coachella 2012 - April 13-15 & April 20-22

I dont. Coachella has become a huge deal over the past few years, and its no question that getting to play the festival is a huge deal for bands nowdays. There will probably be a few that wont do both, but I think for the most part if Coachella sets out to do soemthing theyll get it done. They have the resources, money, and fans no matter what. I mean shit, how many people bought passes at the pre-sale over summer when no rumors were even flying around?

Goldenvoice could take a huge turd in the middle of the polo fields and we'd all still shout for an encore.

My only wonder is who's going to be playing the Do Lab installation and whos playing the pure filth oasis. As of late thats really been whats poppin, not the main stages. In fact, I dont think ive seen a really good set in the Sahara in years!
 
The lineup last year was spectacular. I'm actually looking forward to what bands are playing. I've been indulging in a lot of indie rock as of late. The do lab lineup should be good. I'd be pretty cool if they could get OTT and Opiuo to play this year. Those are two artists that I'm really hoping for in terms of EDM. Who played at pure filth oasis last year? Was where they had most of the drum and bass?
 
Ya pure filth had almost all of the DnB. Its put on by sam robson who basically runs the LA underground EMD scene in terms of event production and sound. It held the Brainfeeder and Low End Theory crowd.

OTT and Opiou would be sick. Really hoping for Om Unit or Salva.

If thats the actual line up, and if this is how Goldenvoice actually drops it this year, Im officially not going at all.
That line up is half assed and their production is half assed. That line up is skinnier than ive ever seen it, its full of repeats, full of generic artists that everyone has seen and no one cares about, and sure while there are a few nice acts on there, its not worth my money and not worth my time.

and not to mention the fact that if thats how they drop their line up, just a "psst here" on facebook, nothing on the website, nothing said about it publically, NOTHING BUT A FUCKING FACEBOOK POST, theyre half assing it and I wont be any part of that.

I feel like theyre fucking with us. The message board for coachella would be blowing up but instead its down today of all days (when the fuck has it ever been down?)


If this is real, if thats fucking it, I have a second weekend pass and a camping pass to sell, and here I come Shambhala.

I'm pretty content with the lineup though I wish there was more EDM acts. Well, there are but there's isn't enough dnb or house. Anyways, I don't think that's the full lineup. My guess is that there are bands/artists that can't make it both weekends. There will probably be a flyer announcing the artists that are specific for each weekend.

This is no longer worth my time or money, so long Coachella.
