I used the search engine and couldnt find any threads directly pertaining to clorazepate. But I know that its used to treat alcohol wd's. I also do its a benzo derivative. So how is this different drom other benzos and will it help me sleep and releive symptoms of rls? Thanks for you input.

Basically, clorazepate will be useful the same way any other benzodiazepines would be but it isn't as potent as more common examples such as alprazolam or clonazepam. I've used clorazepate as a muscle relaxant and it was effective and long lasting but not as sedating at the therapeutic doses as other benzos I've used for similar purposes.

This will certainly help with sleep and RLS but to what extent will depend on the habit you're coming off of and the doses of clorazepate you're using.

Alright thanks guys. I have a pretty high dependency on H but was able to taper some towards the end so I am actually not feeling too terrible yet. But I am only at at 36 hours so the next 48 will prove to be the toughest im sure. The Clorazepate I have come across is 3.75mg si I will try taking a few of those tonight and seehow it goes. Thanks again.

Not sure how accurate it is, but the benzo.org.uk equivalency chart says the following

15mg of clorazepate is equal to=

10mg diazepam
0.5mg alprazolam
0.5mg clonazepam

So, as Cane said, it will be helpful in the same regards as other benzos would. But, it is not very potent at all so a rather high dose will need to be taken in order to achieve any worthwhile effects. And especially in the midst of withdrawal, a higher than normal dose of benzos may be required for a few days in order to help get you through the worst of it.. Good luck.

Ugggh I caved and just did a pack. Wish I could get into a detox center to get this monkey of my back. Thanks again though guys.

Ah. :(

Sorry man.. Don't give up hope, though. Getting clean is a long, hard road and it's gonna take some work and many failed attempts. Going to detox/rehab is a good idea, though. I am sure there is somewhere you can go in your state, no? Certain places are state funded and you can go without paying a dime basically. If you want help finding something, let me know. I have some good resources about detox/rehab facilities.

Also i am gonna close this, since it was answered basically and won't generate much more useful discussion. If you have any problems/questions don't hesitate to PM me. I have been battling opiate addiction for years, as well. If you feel I should re-open this, PM me why you think it should be and we'll think it over.

Thanks!
