so i recieved 7 .1mg clonidine pills. im having a hard time finding information on doseages and effects. does anyone have any expierience with clonidine?

What kind of experience are you looking for?
They have absolutely no recreational purpose. If you take too much, your blood pressure can drop to dangerous levels because clonidine is easily the one of the most potent anti-hypertensives, if not the most.
Take 0.050 milligrams if you're using them for therapeutic purposes (eg. sleep, withdrawal). That's half of one of the pills that you have.

im looking to use them to help my insomnia. half a pill will knock me out then?

If you have no tolerance to clonidine, it very well could. It knocks some people out hard.
Try a half a tablet, if it doesn't work, titrate up to a full one.

Just make sure to always stand up very slowly when you are taking clonidine. I have almost cracked my head a few times from standing up to suddenly and having everything go white for abit. I never found it very good for sleep on it's own but mixed with a benzo it can certainly help me get to sleep during opiate withdrawals.
Clonidine is the best sleep aid for me.
My tolerance on benzos only helps me get a little sleepy, but I have to take too much to sleep only with benzos (and I'm talking about Clonazepam and Xanax mostly). SOMA it would be the best sleep aid if you wouldn't develop tolerance so high and quickly- still even one helps me sometimes more than benzos.
But Clonidine, you don't develop so much tolerance, it feels nice when it hits your system (probably related to it's opiate receptors mild binding?) and even helps with headaches.
