Misc Clonidine withdrawals after only about 3 weeks taking low doses daily?

Yeah, I really wish I had never taken this pill. My friend gave me a bunch of them and I was using them frequently for insomnia (5-6 days a week for 3 weeks), I did read about rebound hypertension/withdrawal so I was keeping my doses low and planned on going off cold turkey when I hit 3 weeks of use..but yeah, I guess that did not go as planned.

Thanks for all the help, I guess I'll just try a taper over a week or two now, and hopefully avoid the massive headaches and tremors.

I have been using clonodine for 15 years ago to treat blood pressure then tells me I have to ween off of it. Overall 1mg every night has helped me but am getting off of it now. it very effective for assisting me get off suboxone. The leg spin and twitching was pretty bad but hydration, and possibly my nootropics helped. I never thought it as addicting, but something you have to slowly get off. Do it slow and good luck. 12 years of opiate addiction and involved in that world, it's tough but it will be over soon.

Thanks! Hopefully this thread can serve as future warning or reference to people going through the same. :\

I'm just glad I didn't spend months on it or take higher doses.

I'm going to check out that Marley's Mellow Mood too.

I have some diazepam available here (about 200mg), do you think it could be useful?

I'm honestly getting a bit scared after reading all the stuff here and with all the withdrawal symptoms it's giving me, I want to get off this stuff ASAP.

Duh about the valium, i'd go for a day with your tapering dose and a day with 10mg-15mg valium etc. until the recognizable rebound effects of clonidine go away. But don't bash too much on it, the main reason they give it during opi wd is that it stops the sweating, cold or not!

Alright, so that taper worked well. Didn't even need valium. Just halved doses daily then stopped entirely. Most of the discomfort happened at the beginning of the taper but by the end I felt at baseline. I don't even have insomnia or anything right now. I feel surprisingly relaxed.
