Misc Clonidine patches

:?:?I ran out of my pain m eds a week early because they were not working so I went to the clinic and they noticed. They said it was too early to give me my normal meds so they gave me a week worth of Oxycodone 10/325 4 a day which will do nothing and a Clonidine patch that you wear for seven days. Can someone explain what this patch is going to do for me? Will it make me tired or will it just keep the withdrawals away? I will be picking them up in an hour. I just want to be prepared. I would not but do others abuse these patches?:?:?
 
Clonidine is usually used for blood pressure, and hypertension resulting from opiate withdrawals.
