clonidine for sleep?

I take suboxon first off. I used opiets and other drugs for 9 years strait and im only now 7months sober and clean. I have cleaned up lots of times but this is my longest stretch and I feel its possible this time around, im doing very good. Im about to get my life back, everything but I have a few big problems left to get under control. One of these problems is sleep.

I take tamazapan twice a week already but on the other days I just try to sleep and often times way up every hour all night long often times not being able to sleep past 1-4am. Im tired of this. Im wondering if taking clonidine on my other days might help me sleep. How long does it last? any dangers with the suboxon. I remember it as being a very un fun drug, kinda a anti drug. I don't remember it making me tired so much as weak. What do you think? could it help me sleep? whats its half life. Thanks.

maybe the first couple days if you take it before you sleep it will make you sleepy thus making it easier to fall asleep but its mainly a high blood pressure medicine and some docs use it for opiate/benzo dependency but you cant rely on it daily for sleep because your body will get used to it, the reason it'll make you sleepy the first couple days or so is because of the little drop in blood pressure

clonidine works great for sleep it has strong antyoxlic effects, start off with 0.1mg at night, if it dont work, try 0.2mg

Well bro I take offence to that really. I am clean and sober. I was a bad addict for 9 years. I had a sugary at 19 that ended up going very wrong. They put me on lots of pain meds for a long time and I got hooked. I started abusing other drugs and drinking and I was heading toward a early grave. I almost didn't recover this last time. Im 7 months sober and clean. Lots of people take meds who get clean and sober, I think they would be offended too. I don't get high of suboxon or tamazapan which I take twice a week only. Anyways.. I take serious offence to that last post bro. Just my opinion. You can think what you want but I don't think its helpfull to tell me im not clean and sober when im so early in recovery.. I mean really man think about what you say.

Clonidine works great GREAT i am telling you, just GREAT for sleep. It does tno make you feel good or anything, but it knocks you out. I would not recommend it for prolongued use.. I was using it for sleep, ended up staying on it so long tha tI actually had withdrawal when I ran out (really fuckin weird, night tremors, my bp shot up heart beat was fucked i almost wetn tot he ER/called 911 no joke). Thbats another story for another day.. but withdrawal from clonidine is VERY real. It will stop having the sleep inducing effect after a month anyway.

But if you plan on using it for a week or two it woould work great.

I used to take clonadine. It will sedate you...but that's because it's lowering your blood pressure. It's an anti drug in the sense that it's a blood pressure medication. Which is why it makes you tired and weak feeling. Can you ask your dr for trazadone or something like that? Clonadine is okay to use with subs.
