I like to take clonidine very occaisionally for the sedative effects but it also lowers your blood pressure and I have low blood pressure. Not dangerously low just a little bit below normal. But is it dangerous for me since it lowers your bp?

Thanks,
-Mitch

The worst that will happen is you'll have trouble standing up without passing out or getting dizzy. If you're using it as a sleep aid and your BP isn't absurdly low you should be fine.

Beware of reboud hypertension when you stop taking clonidine if you've been taking it for a long time, though.

^^^wut they said. its called orthostatic hypotension. wut is your blood pressure usually? usually a dose as small as 0.5mg will give u a sedative effect, but you can play around with the dose. start small. if you are hypotensive, its a BAD idea to take any amount of clonidine. but to be hypotensive you need a blood pressure of <90 (systolic) or <60 (diastolic).. 90/60.. You shuld be fine, but discontinue if any of ur numbers fall below 90 or 60.
