Clonidine .1mg tabs..what to expect?

my doc gave me a script for 30 .1mg tabs for helping me taper off clonazepam and also some clonazepam as well...my question is how am i supposed to feel off of a .1mg tab of Clonidine since i have never taken it..i heard its kind of like a suboxone?..how much is too much to take and can this possibly be used recreationally or does it just make you too tired??
 
your dr. gave you the average low dose of clonidine. clonidine is used alot in helping heroin or opiate addicts quit. It is simply a medication for blood pressure. see when you kick dope your blood pressure spikes up and that is what cause alot of the withdrawl symptoms such as hot/cold flashes and sweats. it is no where near suboxone. it is a toatally different drug and has no recreational use. I promise. they use clonidine patches for heavy heroin users when the are kickin the habbit. it will help as your dr. tapers you off of clonazepam. it can help you sleep and is known to relax certain individuals but only to a point, and you dont wana take to many you could drop your blood pressure to a dangerous level. stand up to quick and you could pass out. not a rec. drug but great to hold onto to help ease withdrawl symptoms from benzos, opiates, and alcohol.

so its ok to take this with clonazepam at the same time? because hes got me on 2mg clonazpam, twice daily and .1mg Clonidine daily... our goal is to taper me off to 1-2mg clonazepam
 
Just be sure to take it for the first time when your at home and don't have to go anywhere. It would suck to stack your car cause the clonodine had you maxly relaxed. I take it your Dr switched your scipts with no problems. Good thing about the pill is you can split it in half if you find a whole one to be too fatiguing. Like the above poster already said, it's be the mainstay for people kickin herion for a long time, it's just stating to show up in the newer Dr's desk references for treating Benzo wd. How much cheaper were the tabs?
 
the tabs were 10.05$ for 30 of them and for 30 patches it was 750$ if i recall corectly lol..i took 2 and im feeling relaxed thinking of taking a last one to make it a .3
 
it'd be wise to check your BP before taking anymore, I'm not sure what the half life is for clonodine, it's been a few years. It doesn't appear to effect you as much as it did me, after I took one I was feeling like alice tumbling down the rabbit whole, I recall my dose being higher though, I think it was .2, makes sense cause when i split them in half it was much better. Your pysched, you saved some nice cash at the pharm today, not too mention a lot of people have a reaction to the adehesive in the patches that causes an irritation to the sourrounding skin.
